On Monday August 19th, Big Meadows had their Second Annual Cupcake Wars. On the page to the left are all the entries into Cupcake Wars. Residents, staff, and the community participated in this year’s Cupcake Wars.

On Tuesday, August 20th, Big Meadows held a baby shower for Tonya Edwards and her daughter Raegan Jayne. Everyone had so much fun, and loved being able to hold baby Raegan. On the right is a picture of Tonya and Raegan with their cake.

On Saturday, August 24th, Big Meadows had their Second Annual Dog Show. Dogs were awarded a variety of awards, such as loudest bark or saddest face. Everyone, es-pecially the residents had a wonder-ful time. We thank all the owners and dogs for participating.

On September 12th, we will be celebrating International Dot Day, which was started by a teacher in Iowa in 2009, when he gave his introduced his students to the book, The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds.

The unit where we will care for residents specifically with dementia is progressing. We hope to have everything done by Halloween. Below are the before and after photos of the old activities area, where a wall was torn down to make more room for the new unit.

On August 1st, to help celebrate Clown Week, we had a guest, Lee Jang, who came in and made balloon animals. The residents really enjoyed this activity and so did the staff.
