    TH E PURPOSE

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God."Ps.14:1. There are about 3,000,000,000 people in theworld and rare is the rnan who says he does not be-lieve in any god at all. THE WORLD ALMANAC for1964 divides the world's religions as follows:

    Rornan Catholic 558,221,000Eastern Orthodox 138,513,000Protestant. 219,636, 000Jewish 12,867,000MosIern 437,278,000Zoroastrian .. '" 142,000Shinto 59,788,000Taoist. 50,062,000Confucian 334,549, 000Buddhist 155,265, 000Hindu. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. 340,844,000Others or none 676,007,000

TOTAL 2,983,172,000The figure of 676,007,000 rna rk ed "others or

none", includes all of those who worship idols inAfrica, South Arner l.c a , and the res t of the world. Those who worship no god would be less than a tenthof 1% .

Are you honest? At least you like to think you are.Do you believe in a god? Perhaps, whether you be-lieve in a god or not, you would consider answeringsorne itnportant questions on this subject.

\Vhat is the diffe rence between a L i ve man and adead man? True, some physical fa i1u r e rr.ay haveca.i sed his death but where did his life go? '.n:at V:2.Shis life? Can you rnea sure what we call the Soul ? Ar eyou sure that when a man dies he's just dead and. tnatsit? What rrra.kes you so sure? Can you PROVE thatthere is no hell? Maybe you feel that no one can an-swer these questions.Look at the flowers, the trees, the birds, the ani-

mals, the snow, and the rain; who rn ak e sand contr ols all of these? Why does a sow have 8 to 12 ormore little pigs in each litter and usually two L i tte r sa year? A good sow may thus have 24 little pigs eachyear. Suppose they only had one pig each year andthat bears, lions, tigers, and other be a s t s of thissort each had 24 young ones per year. Thousands ofsuch illustrations of God's wonderful control 0 f thephysical world could be given. No wonder man adrriitsat least the existence of a Supreme Being or Creator.Admitting there is a Supreme Being, is it too hard toimagine that there might be some sort of continuanceafte r death?Consider some other questions for a moment. Is

it not strange that all religions in their es sentials arealike? All religions have good and evil, a good godand an evil god. All religions expect some continu-ance of life beyond death. Superstition! How do YOUknow? Can you determine which religion is the trueone? Many persons live for the present and as far asthe future is concerned they say, "I'll take mychances". Still others say, "I'll do the best I can".Aren't you taking a big chance? Not many people read the preface in a book. For

this reason the preface in this book is the first chapter. It is important before reading this book that you knowand unde rstand its purpose. The questions we haveraised can be answe red and the answe rs proven. It isthe purpose of this book to show:16

    1. There was and is an 0rig in a I source fromwhich all religions stem.

    2. All religions are alike in their essentials.3. All religions are motivated by a real person

known as Satan.4. Religions are interlocked with each other to an

amazing degree.5. There is but one true faith.6. God has established a physical proof of these

things in the nation of Is rael.7. There is but one book that is absolutely true

and without error, the Bible.8. The greatest physical miracle of history is the

world-wide dispersion of the Jews, their preserva-tion through history, and their re-gathering into Pal-estine. Including also, of course, the barren wasteof this land for 20 centuries and its sudden produc-tiveness to support God's people.

    9. Satan is gathe ring the religions of the worldinto a great world church.10. That the members of Satan's religious system

will be plainly and physically marked, and what in allprobability that mark will be.

Permit me now in this preface to state that asa graduate mechanical engineer, I believe sufficientfacts exist to prove, beyond any s had 0w of doubt, the statements which I have given. Much, much morecould be presented than is given, but I desire to takejust a few highlights covering points of interest ratherthan to get so involved that my reade r will becomeconfused. I have tried to give pictures in abundanceto make the proof visible. The postage stamps of theworld are actually an amazing source of informa-tion. The postage stamps of Israel are the moststriking ever issued by any government of the world.Israel usually issues postage stamps in small sheets.Attached to one row of stamps at the bottom or side is

    17

what is called a descriptive tab. The stamps shownin this book have this descriptive tab attached. Thistab is not part of the stamp nor is it necessary inmailing letters or packages. This tab often describesthe stamp in some way or adds to its meaning. Thestamps of Is rael with the i r attached tabs seem tobring alive the history of the past, history in its mak-ing and events yet to come. The postage stamps of noother nation seem to literally "live" as do those ofIsrael. Do the nations always know and understandwhat they are putting on postage stamps? I wonder, for it seems that often the subjects on postage stampsseem to be beyond the realm of human control. As tothis I leave you to your own conclusion but certainlyif you study the stamps shown in this book you willwonder at the content of so me of them. Read thisbook carefully, as it pro ba b1y takes an approachwhich is completely strange to you and may you see,one God, and His Only begotten Son, Jesus Christ theLord.

THE V IRG IN BORN SAV IOR

The world today is being told, more than everbefore, that all men are brothers and God is theFather of us all. There is a fast-moving trend togather all so-called Christians into one great group. At the present, many protestant denominations arejoining forces while at the same time there is aneffort to join Protestants with Roman Catholics. Themovement goes further than -this, for many leadersfeel that Buddhists, Hindus and others worship thesame God through a different channel. In otherwords, we are all working to the same end but alongdifferent paths. Mutual help, love, compas sion andunderstanding is what the world needs today. Over3,000,000,000 human beings look bewildered, andtheir hearts are empty; but they continue in the waythey were raised. Is there a clear explanation to thisthe major problem of the world today? After all aman's religion is the most important part of his life.It controls directly or indirectly all he thinks, how helives, and offers him what hope he has for the future.Since man began on the earth, he has always believedin a life afte r death. The mummies of Egypt bearmute testimony to the proof of this statement. House-hold goods, chairs, tables, and jewelry were buriedwith the deceased. Toys were buried with childrenand even mummified pets like their cat. Truly thereligions of the w0 r Ld form a great ma ze of con .fusion to any serious person.

Under the city of New York is a great labyrinthof passageways which will well illustrate our pro-blem. Any week day morning you might descend anyof hundreds of stairways that lead to the most com-plex underground railroad system imaginable, anddown these stairways literally millions of people arepushing and fighting their way---some going home, some to work, so met 0 s c h 001, some to church, some sad, some joyful, and some not really goinganywhere but looking for a place to be warm and getout of the weather. This is a cross section of thegreat sea of humanity.

The trains all look alike, but which one do youtake? Perhaps the a v era g e pe rson in this greatcrowd cannot direct you, he simply knows he takestrain E. Where doe s the E train go? He doe snit know.Someplace, three stations later he gets off, and so hedoesn't care. Humanity for centuries has followedjust such a maize in the religious field. I'm aBuddhist. I'm a Catholic. I'm a Baptist. Why? I don'tknow. I was just brought up that way, I guess. Don'tyou care to know? Not particularly. I leave wellenough alone.

The trains have different names: E train, D trainand B train. If in the heart of New York City youboard one of the many trains, do you know where youwill go? They certainly don't all go to the same placebut they do all go to a dead end. The conductor willsay, "Al.l out; this is as far as we so-" Some dayyour religion will say to you, "Al.I out; this is as faras we go." These trains don't go anywhere but to adead end, and then they go back and get some morepeople to bring to the same dead end. 11mafraid thatif you think all religions lead to the same place, youare just as fooled as if you thought all trains led tothe same place. But don't all religions look alike?Yes, they often appear quite alike and they do have

    20

a common source. Have you ever realized how verymuch alike r e 1i g ion s really are? It is absolutelyamazing that all the world religions have so muchin common. Of all the religions, there is actually butone that is true and real. Can it be proven? Can aperson know for a certainty? Indeed you can, if youknow how religions are marked, for religions aremarked, you know, and they have various kinds ofemblems and insignia that make it quite easy to de-te rmine the true f'rorn the false. Let us look first atthe great labyrinth of religions and see how muchthey have in common.

Today, much controversy has been raised as towhether or not it is necessary to believe that Jesuswas virgin- born. If one is to believe the Bible, thereis , of course, no question of doubt. The questionactually becomes a very simple one, "Do you or doyou not believe the Bible? "

18 !I Now the birth of JesusChrist was on this wise: When ashis mother Mary was espousedto Joseph, before they came to-gether, she was found with childof the Holy Ghost.19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willingto make her a public example, was minded to put her awayprivily.20 But while he thought on thesethings, behold, the angel of theLord appeared unto him in adream, saying, Joseph, thou sonof David, fear not to take untothee Mary thy wife: fortlyttwhich is conceived in her is of theHoly Ghost.21 And she shall bring forth ason, and thou shalt call his nameJESUS: for he shall save hispeople from their sins.

22 Nowall this was done, thatit might be fulfilled which wasspoken of the Lord by theprophet, saying,23Behol~ayirJriu shallbewithchil~g forth ason, and they shall callhis nameEm-manuel, which being interpretedis, Godwithus. Matt. 1:18-23

The Bible plainly states that Jesus Christ wasborn of a virgin. In no branch of the Christian faithis as much emphasis placed on the virgin birth as inthe Roman Catholic Church. Statues and pictures ofa mother and child reputed to be Mary and Jesus, are found everywhere, and for the moment we neednot comment further.

The question now may be asked, "Do other re-ligions have such a virgin-born savior?" Let us turnfirst to ancient Egypt, for the Egyptians and theirreligion existed c en t u r i e s before any part of theBible was written. In Egypt they worshiped the virgingoddess, Isis and her son, Horus.

In ancient Babylon also, a goddess mother wasworshiped. One of her names in Babylon was Myl itaand the child's name was Tamrnuz ,

    Fig. 4 MYLITTA G P TAMMUZ

The Greeks worshiped the goddess as Aphroditeand the Romans as Venus. So, you see, the Romans,Greeks, Babylonians, Indians, and Egyptians all wor-shiped a virgin mother and child long before JesusChrist was born. These are just a few. This god-dess mother has many other names: Cybele, Minerva,Diana, Juno, Maya, Ceres, Shing Moo, and Semir-amis to mention a few more.

No wonder the idea exists that all religions arethe same. It can very easily be shown that thesevirgin goddesses are connected to each other. Atfirst glance it might seem that the oldest record of avirgin goddess and child must be the original and allof the other goddesses simply copies, but this is notthe ca se How then, you ask, did all of the sean-cient nations get the idea of a virgin-born savior24

did the LORD scatterthemabroadupon the faceof all the earth.Gen.ll:1-9

Notice verse one. At that time the entire popu-lation was all speaking the same language and wasgathered together in one place. On leaving this placecalled Babel or Babylon the people divided into theirmany nations and carried with them a promise of avirgin-born savior. But still, how could they know ofa virgin-born savior so long before the Bible? Weknow that such a promise is in Gen. 3:15 although inrather a veiled form.

15And I will put enmi~~- ""tween thee and the woman, nd -VugInbetween thy seed and her seed;~Ch 'Idit shallbruise thy head, and thou 1shaltbruisehisheel.Gen. 3: 15

This promise was known to Adam and Eve andcould have easily been well known to all those at theTowe r of Babel. But I believe they had much more ofthe gospel than this. Notice WHY God created thesun, moon, and stars.

14 !IAnd God said, Let therebe lights in the firmamentof theheaven to divide the day fromthe night; and let them be for/~ and for seasons, and forSIGN S days, andyears: Gen. 1:14

They were for seasons, days, and years, and togive light, But we have rnissed something; they werefor SIGNS. In what way were they signs? Now, lookagain at Genesis 11:4.

4 And they said, Go to, let usbuild us a city and a tower, whose top m a J ! . reach unto heav-en; and letus m a K e us a name, lest we be scattered abroad uponthe face of the whole earth.

Gen. 11:4Do you notice that the Scripture says, "who se top

may reach unto heaven"? The words "may reach"are written in italic s and this signifies that they arenot there in the Hebrew text. These ancient peopleswere a1l expert astronomers and they were not sofoolish as to think their tower could reach to heaven.

It has been thought by some that the outer sur-face stones on the Tower of Babel had pictures of theheavens----sun, moon, and stars. Thus perhaps thepassage should read "whose top is of the heavens."

On most maps of the starry heavens you will seethe outlines of many figures --a lion, a lamb, a bull,a woman, and many others. These figures are knownas the Zodiac. People today connect the Zodiac withfortune telling, astrology, and horoscopes. This isbut the corruption of what God once gave in theheavens to show the world the plan of salvation. Jobrefers to these signs in the heavens and uses theHe b r ew w0r d for It Zodiac" which is given in theKing James' version as "Mazzaroth".

    THE ZOD IAC

Very few people know anything about the realmeaning of the Zodiac. No wonder, when all we hearis our horoscope and ridiculous predictions whichnever come true. But just because we have misusedthis great gift of God is no reason to assume it hadno better purpose,

We must, first of all, consider a few facts aboutthe Bible which you mayor may not know. They areso important they have been set down item by item:

    1. The Bible was given by God through the medi-um of the Jewish people.WHAT advantage then haththe Jew? or what profit is

there of circumcision?2 Much every way: chiefly, be-cause that unto them were com-mitted the oracles of God.Romans 3:1,2

    2. The New Testament began to be written about50 A. D. The early church had no New Testa-ment.

    3. The Old Testament was started at the timeMoses led the people out of Egypt. Before thistime there was no Bible.

In books of the Bible written about 600 B. C. wefind record of astrologers. The people in and aroundBabylon were particularly skilled in astronomy andits corrupt form which we call astrology.

    28

    30/224

13 Thou art wearied in the mul-titude of thy counsels. Let nowthe astrologers, the stargazers, themonthly prognosticators, standup, and save thee from thesethings that shall come upon thee.

Isaiah 47: 1310 ~ The Chal-de' -ans answeredbefore the king, and said, Thereis not a man upon the earth thatcan shew the king's matter: there-fore there is no king, lord, norruler, that asked such things atany magician, or astrologer, orChaldean. Dan. 2: 10

The Is raelites th ems e 1v e s were caught in theidolatry of sun-worship as we shall presently see.Paul in writing th e epis t l e to the Romans says,"whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shallbe saved." (Rom. 10:13) Paul continues to explain thatin order to call on the name of the Lord, people haveto hear about the Lord. Paul then asks if it is truethat everybody has heard.

18 But I say, Have they notheard? Yes verily, their soundwent into all the earth, and theirwords unto the ends of the world.Romans 10:18

Notice, as Paul continues writing as directed bythe Holy Spirit, he says that they have heard. How?"Their sound went into all the earth, and their wordsunto the ends of the world." Whose sound and whosewords? This is quoted from Psalm 19.

THE heavens declare the gloryof God; and the firmamentsheweth his handiwork.29

    31/224

2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night shewethknowledge.3 There is no speech nor lan-guage, where their voice is notheard.4 Their line is gone out throughall the earth, and their words tothe end of the world. In themhath he set a tabernacle for thesun,5Which is as a bridegroom com-ing out of his chamber, and re-joiceth as a strong man to run arace. Psalms 19: 1-5

In verse two it says, "night unto night shewethknowledge .' It could be said that this means that thestars, sun, and moon show the infinite knowledge ofGod in creation; but is this what it really means? It is further explained that the sun is the centralfigure and its path is likened to a bridegroom runninga "race" or more properly a "cour se", In so manywords it is explaining that the sun's course in thestarry heavens is a type of the bridgroom's coursethrough life. Remember these things for a moment, but let us follow another thought for a while.

One of these imaginary figures in the sky iscalled Aries. It is the figure of a lamb lying down. This constellation, as it is called, is identified by thethree stars which are all in the head of the imagin-ary figure and form a small triangle. The usual ques-tion asked in ridic ule is: "How do you make a lambout of those three stars?" To ridicule the Zodiacdoes not show superior intelligence but rather ignor-ance. If these three stars were imagined as a lion onthe star maps of Africa, and as a cobra on the starmaps of India, and as a dragon on the star rnaps ofChina, and as an elephant on other s, etc , , we shouldbe quite justified in saying that all of these thi.ngs arejust imagined and make no sense at all.

    30

  • 8/6/2019 A Land Born in a Day

    32/224

Such is not the case. On star maps a11over theworld these three stars are connected with the fig-ure of a lamb and yet there is no possible way toimagine a lamb formed by these three stars. THENATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE, riAMap of theHeavens," shows the lamb. Go to all the ancientstar maps and you wi11 sti11 find a lamb. Why? Justas the virgin mother and child systems had onesource in Babylon so the star maps have the samecommon source. These three stars always form theconste11ation, Aries

The great Jewish historian, Josephus, writing inabout 70 A.D., says, "In the month of Xanthicus, which is by us called Nisan, and is the beginning ofour year, on the fourteenth day of the lunar month, when the sun is in Aries. (for in this month it was

that we were delivered from bondage under theEgyptians), the law ordained that we should everyyear slay that sacrifice which I before told you weslew when we came out of Egypt, and which wascalled the Passover." Here, we begin to see thatthese imaginary figures are connected with worldevents. Aries, the lamb, is a picture of the lamb'sdying first for Israel and later as lithe Lamb of God,which taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29

The sun moves eastward in the course of the yearalong a path through these imaginary figures.

    1. Aries, the lamb or ram2. Taurus, the bull3. Gemini, the twins4. Cancer, the crab5. Leo, the lion6. Virgo, the virgin7. Libra, the balance8. Scorpius, the scorpion9. Sagittarius, the archer10. Capricornus, the goat11. Aquarius, the water-bearer12. Pisces, the fishes

Now, these figures form a great circle and tella ve ry important story. But with the figures in acircle, where in the circle does the story begin?Perhaps this circle of figures tells two stories. Inthe quotation from Josephus, the month Nisan is thebeginning when the sun is in Aries, and so today,Aries is reg a r de d by the nation of Israel as thebeginning. The Bible says that Nisan was to be thebeginning month. And so it is the custom among nations today tobegin with the constellation, Aries. But this was not

The word "sphinx"comes from a word whichmeans "to bind tight together", Thus a sphinx bindsthe ends of the Zodiacal circle together. On the ceil-ing of the Portico of the Temple of Esneh, in Egypt,a sphinx is shown between the virgin and the 1ion.

This is a clue to the unde rstanding of the Zodiac forthe story begins with Virgo, the virgin, and continuesaround the circle to Leo, the lion. The Sphinx is saidto have proposed a riddle, "What creature goes in themorning on four legs, at noon on two, and in the even-ing on three ?II The solution: IIAman, who during hisinfancy creeps on all-fours, in his prime walks erecton two legs, and when old age has enfeebled his pow-ers, calls a staff to his assistance, and thus has, asit were, three legs .11 Here again is a hint that the en-tire gospel was known but perverted by mythology forthis is the course of the Bridegroom from His virginbirth to His return as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah,King of kings and Lord of lords.23 Behold, a virgin shall be withchild, and shall bring forth a son,and they shall call his name Em-manuel, which being interpretedis, God with us.24 Then Joseph being raisedfrom sleep did as the angel of theLord had bidden him, and tookunto him his wife:25 And knew her not till she hadbrought forth her firstborn son:and he called his name JESUS.

It is not the purpose of this book to enter into adetailed study of the Zodiac, which has been so ablydone by Dr. Joseph A. Seiss in THE GOSPEL IN THESTARS and by Rev. E. W. Bullinge r in his fine bookreferred to above. I am completely convinced thatthe virgin goddesses have a common origin, and atone time the go s pel was cLe.arIy revealed in theheavens. Later, we shall deal with further proof ofthe gospel in the stars. Psalms 19 likens the sun'spath to a bridegroom running his course and Paulconcurs in Romans 10:18 that everybody in his dayhad heard the gospel.

Men at the tower of Babel began to make gods andgoddesses of these imaginary figures. God gave oneof the 10 commandments to Israel against this veryact.

4 Thou shalt not make untothee any graven image, or anylikeness of any thing that is inheaven above, or mat is in theearth beneath, or that is in thewater under the earth: Ex.20:4Again, you will not ice that the words "of any

thing" are in italic s and do not belong in the text. The Scripture reads, "or any likeness that (is) inheaven." Does this limit the making of idols to thosein the fashion of birds, or does it include theseimaginary figures which were known and worshipedby heathen nations long before the Bible was written?

Is it not more than a coincidence that the most com-mon of all idols in the world is that of a virgin god-dess with a child in her lap? The Roman CatholicChurch, by far the largest of all of the so-calledChristian religions, has such an idol as the centerof all of its worship. There is such an original statuein the imaginary figures of the heavens and to this wenow turn our attention.

THE OR IG INAL V IRG IN

While there are 12 constellations which make upthe Zodiac, there are many more constellations thanthese in the heavens. Many constellations on modernstar m.aps are of recent origin and do not appear onthe ancient maps. Some few present-day constella-tions have been changed from their original pictu re.

One of these which has undergone considerablechange is the one labeled on pre sent-day star mapsas "Corna Berenices", This constellation is repre-sented as a woman's wig; its name means "the hairof Berenice". Berenice, the wife of Ptolemy III, Kingof Egypt, promised her hair to Venus if her husbandreturned home safely from a dangerous expedition. Her hair was hung up in the temple of Venus fromwhence it was later stolen. To comfort Berenice,Canon, an astronomer of Alexandria, said that Jupiterhad taken it and made it a constellation.

Rev. E. W. Bullinger in THE WITNESS OF THESTARS, p.35, gives the ancient Egyptian name forthis constellation as Shes-nu, the desired son.Rev. E. W. Bullinger was able to procure an exactdrawing of this constellation as it appeared on theZodiac in the Temple of Denderah in Egypt which wasbuilt at least 4, 000 years ago.

Here is a mother and child on an ancient starmap.Dr.Seiss gives the Hebrew and Oriental meaningof Coma as lithe desired, the l.origed-cfo r ," The Scrip-tures themselves speak of this Coming One.

THE DESIRED7 And I will shake all nations,o and the desire of all nations shall 0come: and I will fill this housewith glory, saith the LORD ofhosts. Haggai 2:7

Beyond all doubt, the virgin goddesses, often witha child in the arms, have one common origin---theconstellations of Virgo, the virgin; and Coma, thedesired. Again we say, no wonder people are con-fused as to which is the right religion. Is there anyway to be absolutely sure?

The idea of a personal devil, especially in theform of a serpent, is put by most modern religiousleaders in the category of mythology. Here again itcomes to a simple question: "Do you or do you notbelieve the Bible? It

Hast thoueaten of the tree, whereof I com-manded thee that thou shouldestnot eat?12 And the man said, The wom-an whom thou gavest to bewith me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.13 And the LORD God saidunto the woman, What is thisthat thou hast done? And thewoman said, The serpent be-guiled me, and I did eat.14 And the LORD God said untothe serpent, Because thou hastdone this, thou art cursed aboveall cattle, and above every beastof the field; upon thy belly shaltthou go, and dust shalt thou eatall the days of thy life:

    [15 And I will put enmity be-tween thee and the woman, and() between thy seed and ~it shall bruise thy head, " ' i i i i C f t h o l ishalt bruise his heel.

Genesis 3:1-15God said, "I will put enmity between thee (Satan,

the serpent) and the woman, and between thy seed(Satan's seed) and her (the woman's) seed." Here,we have a clear evidence of the virgin birth. Geneal-ogy in Scripture is reckoned as of the man, neve ras of the woman. Consequently, this has always been

    43

  • 8/6/2019 A Land Born in a Day

    45/224

understood to refer to the virgin birth of Jesus. Godgoes further, "and it (the seed of the woman) shallbruise thy head, and thou (Satan) shalt bruise his(the seed of the woman) heel ." The struggle is thus tobe between a virgin-born child and the serpent(Satan). Consequently, when we see the mother-childdeified and worshiped, we would expect the serpentto be despised and rejected. Our findings are quite tothe contrary; the serpent is also made into a god andworshiped. This is one clear mark of a false system.

That the real truth was known and understood iswithout question. Near the constellation Scorpio youwill notice another constellation called Ophiuchus ,Ophiuchus is crushing the scorpion's head with onefoot while holding his othe r foot up as though avoidingbeing stung in the heel by the scorpion's tai1.

This is one of theindications of a false system when credit is given tothe woman rather than the Son. But in spite of this,it is easily seen that the serpent is evil.

The Egyptianswrote with hieroglyphics or what is perhaps betterknown as picture writing. Some of these pictographsare what are called dete rminants. They indicate whatthe word means. Lord Jesus Christ, it can't be HISTORY because hehas already decided no such person existed. Such isthe working of a warped mind. But wait. .. Mr. Doaneon the same page, recognizes Josephus A.D.40-70 asan HISTORIAN.

Josephus in ANTIQUITIES OF THE JEWS,Book 18, Chapter 3, Section 3, says, "Now there wasabout this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful tocall him a man; for he was a doer of wonderful works,a teacher of such men as receive the truth withpleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jewsand many of the Gentiles. He was Christ. And whenPilate, at the suggestion of the principle men amongstus, had condemned him to the cros s, those that lovedhim at the first did not forsake him; for he appearedto them alive again the third day; as the divine pro-phets had foretold these and ten thousand other won-derful things concerning him. "

    What does Mr. Doane believe about this HISTOR-ICAL statement? He believes this must have beeninserted by a later Christian writer because no HIS-TORIAN could, of course, write about a man whomMr. Doane has already decided did not exist. Jose-phus records another interesting statement concern-ing Seth, the son of Adam. Josephus records thatSeth was a virtuous man and he had children of anexcellent character. Josephus credits Seth, the sonof Adam, and his children with a knowledge of theheavenly bodies. "They also were the inventors ofthat peculiar sort of wisdom which is concerned withthe heavenly bodies, and their order. II ANTIQUITIESOF THE JEWS, Book 1, Chapter 2, Section 3. WouldMr. Doane accept this as a testimony to the origin ofmankind and a divine knowledge given to God's crea-tion? Definitely not, because he has already decidedall religions are myths. A great percentage of themen of the clergy have exactly this kind of approach;

they do not believe because they have already de-cided they won't believe.

I simply gave this example to show the stubbornheart of man. For nearly 2500 years after Adam, Godregarded men as close enough to the source of lightso as to need no other enlightenment. But then Godgave a sign which would vindicate His Holy Name.God developed through a relatively short period ofhistory, a sign which it would be impossible for anysane man to refute. Man could reject God's starrymessage as myth. Man could reject the virgin birthof His Son as copied from other myths. No one couldtell by looking at Jesus that He was virgin-born. Theonly way we can know that, is because we believe theBible. Man could even reject the crucifixion as theyears rolled by, simply by saying that Jesus was agood man who was willing to die for a principle. Mancould r e j e c t the re surrection, by saying the wit-nesses were under such a strain they "th ough t!' theysaw Jesus. Man could reject His ascension into heav-en by claiming mass hypnotism or simply saying thatthose statements were added later to the Scripture tomake it look authentic. Yes, man can explain awayeverything he doesn't want to believe, that is, nearlyeverything. God has given one sign, as proof of thetruth that no men c an explain away. What is thatTRUTH, that sign that no skeptic, no, not even a fool, can explain away? The sign that proves that the Bibleis Divinely given and that the Bible gives God's oneand only way to salvation is, THE JEW.

You can explain away everything, but you can'texplain away the Jew. Has the Jew existed for nearly4,000 years? Yes. Does the Jew exist inspite ofcountless efforts on the part of man to exterminatehim? Yes. Has any people ever suffered as the Jew?No. The Jews are a peculiar people; they are a raceby Di v in e pronouncement; they have a religion by

In what way were the sun, moon, and stars asign? The only SIGNS are the imaginary figu re s ofthe heavens. That Is rael regards these signs as be-longing especially to Israel, may be seen from a quo-tationfromthe Soncino Talmud, Vol. 16, p.201,Berakoth 32b.

Resh Lakish said: "The Holy One, blessed be He,answered her: 'My daughter, twelve constellationshave I created in the firmament, and for each con-stellation I have created 30 hosts, and for each hostI have created 30 legions, and for each legion Ihavecreated 30 cohorts, and for each cohort I have created30 maniples, and for each maniple Ihave created 30camps, and to each camp I have attached 365 thou-sands of myriads of stars, corresponding to the daysof the solar year, and all of them I HAVE CREATEDONLY FOR THY SAKE'''. This was written about 200-500 A.D.

The nations took these SIGNS of heaven and madethem into gods.

IIThe heathen took these imaginary figures and fash-ioned replicas of them out of wood and served theseidols. God's promise to Israel is that if the sun, moon, and stars cease to give light then the seed ofIsrael will cease as a nation. Further, if the sea-sons, days, and years cease, Israel will also ceaseas a nation. Finally, if the SIGNS displayed by thesebodies cease, Israel will cease as a nation. Today, the sun, moon, and stars still give their light. Westill have summer, fall, winter, and spring.

Days and years are recorded on our calendars, Onstar maps all over the world, the constellations areshown as imaginary figures. Our newspapers showthe horoscopes. The SIGNS in the heavens are stillknown and pondered by millions, but little is knownof the gospel as it appears in the sky. Instead, theseSIGNS dismay the nations and bring forth every ex-pression from ridic uLe to fear. When God calledIsrael and separated to Himself those people knownas the Jews. He established a physical, visible proofof the Scriptures which no man can refute.

Long before God's Son became flesh and was bornin Bethlehem, He wa 1ked this earth and dealt withmen. Jacob was one of these rnen, for Jacob met Godface to face. Jacob did not encounter God's Son in adream or a vision but in a physical encounter. God inthe second person of the Trinity wrestled with Jacob.

24 ~ And Jacob was left alone;and there wrestled a man withhim until the breaking of the day.25 And when he saw that heprevailed not against him, hetouched the hollow of his thigh;and the hollow of Jacob's thighwas out of joint, as he wrestledwith him.26 And he said, Let me go, forthe day breaketh. And he said,I will not let thee go, except thoubless me.27 And he said unto him, Whatis thy name? And he said, Jacob.28 And he said, Thy name shallbe called no more Jacob, butIsrael: for as a prince hast thoupower with God and with men,and hast prevailed.29 And Jacob asked him, andsaid, Tell me, I pray thee, thyname. The ac-companying chart outlines this history. These boystogether with their father went down into the land ofEgypt. Here, for many years and under many hard-ships, God developed this family into a mighty nationnumbering over 600,000 fighting men. These peoplewere held in bondage by the Egyptians until God de-livered them by a great series of miracles and ledthem out into the wilderness of Sinai. There was, asyet, no Bible at all.

    TH E JEW - - I RREFUTAB LE PROOF

The Sinai Peninsula lies between Egypt and Pal-estine. An aerial photograph of this entire area wastaken from the U. S. satellite, Tiros V. It was dur-ing forty years of Israel's sojourn in this sparselysettled land that God gave a complete picture of theplan of salvation. Here, God instructed Moses in theconstruction of what we call the Wilderness Taber-nacle. The details of construction are recorded in thebook of Exodus, beginning in chapter 25. This littlestructure was much different from the temples ofEgypt with all of their idols. A fence 75 feet wide and150 feet long enclosed a court. Inside this court wasa small rectangular building 15 feet wide, 15 feet highand 45 feet long. Since this temple was to be usedduring the journey to Palestine, it was constructedso as to be readily portable. Forty-eight boards ofsh itt irn wood overlaid with gold formed three sides ofthe building prope r , The entrance was closed by ahanging of blue, purple, scarlet, and white linen knownas a veil.

The court was open to the weather but the boardstructure was protected by a tent. The tent was, inreality, a series of 4 tents, one above the other. Theboard structure was divided into two parts ... calledthe Holy Place and the other the Holy of Holies. Thefurnishings were simple, indeed. In the court was abrasen altar, called the altar of sacrifice, and a brassvessel termed the brasen laver. Burnt offerings were

offered on the altar while the laver was used for di-verse washings. Inside the Holy Place were threeobjects: a seven-branch lampstand, a golden altar ofincense, and a golden table of shewbread. Within theHoly of Holies was the ark of the covenant.

Perhaps the most striking thing about this templewas its simplicity. Only the High Priest ever saw theark of the covenant and then only once a year. TheHigh Priest never worshiped the ark nor the cheru-bim on the ark. The lamp burned olive oil and wasnot an eternal flame but simply a light during thenight. The table was to hold twelve cakes of unleav-ened bread. Incense was offered on the golden altar.

To the Gentile nations round about, the sun wasthe principle god. The nations had taken the imagi-nary figures in the stars and made images of them, thus perverting their t rue message. Such idolatrywas an abomination to the Lord. These people knewGod, but following their foolish hearts, turned awayfrom Him to their idols.

21 Because that, when they knewGod, they glorified him not asGod, neither were thankful; butbecame vain in their imagina-tions' and their foolish heart wasdarkened.22 Professing themselves to bewise, they became fools,23 And changed the glory of theuncorruptible God into an imagemade like to corruptible man, andto birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.Rom. 1:21-23The Tabernacle was directly opposed to this idol-

At the end of forty years in the wilderness, Godbrought the nation of Is rael into the land of promiseand gave it to them for an everlasting possession. The hearts of the people of Israel were soon turnedfrom God. God established a system of Judges butIs rael would not be satisfied until a king had beengiven to them. The folly of man, Israel rejected Godfor a fleshly king.

4 Then all the elders of Israelgathered themselves together, andcame to Samuel unto Ramah,5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walknot in thy ways: now make usa king to judge us like all thenations.6 !f But the thing displeasedSamuel, when they said, Give usa king to judge us. And Samuelprayed unto the LORD.7 And the LORD said untoSamuel, Hearken unto the voiceof the people in all that they sayunto thee: for they have notrejected thee, but they have re-jected me, that I should not reignover them. 1 Sam. 8: 4-7

Afte r continued disobedience on the part of thepeople of Israel, God delivered them into bondage toNebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon, for seventyyears. Still the people did not return unto the Lordwith their hearts. Some 600 years later, A.D.70,God sent all those in the land of Palestine into aworld-wide dispersion. God withheld the rain and theland of Palestine became a dry wasteland and thepeople, the Jews, became a wandering people with-out a home. place, yet they remain a distinct people. Tortured, robbed, and murdered, they have been hated by annations, hated by all peoples, but loved by God.

8 For thus saith the LORD ofhosts; After the glory hath hesent me unto the nations whichspoiled you: for he that touchethyou toucheth the apple of hism Zech.2:8The Jew is the one tangible PROOF that the Bible

is the Word of God and all other religions and cultsare false. It is the custom of most cle rgymen todayto rej ect prophecy. For the most part, this is donevery simply. Let me give you an example: Daniel, theprophet writing in Babylon long before Greec e was anation, wrote:

20 The ram which thou sawesthaving tw o horns are the kings ofMe' -di-a and Persia.21And the rough goat is the kingof Gre' -ci-a: and the great hornthat is between his eyes is the firstking. Dan. 8: 20, 21Greece is named; so the way the subject is han-

dled in schools is to simply declare it was written byanother writer after the Greek conquest. By onemethod or another, prophecy can be discounted to thepoint where there is no such thing as prophecy. Thisfoolishness of men's hearts, permits t h e rn to thendeclare that the Bible CONTAINS the Word of God .. enot that it IS the Word of God. The next question is:which part of the Bible is the Word of God? The an-swer is that the religious leaders decide what is andwhat isn't the Word of God.

The Bible was complete and we have existing cop-ies which date prior to 500 A.D. These manuscriptscontain the prophecies concerning the J'ew, which arein your Bible. Many of these prophecies have neverbeen fulfilled but many are currently being fulfilled. We have records at least 1400 years old of propheciesbeing fulfilled today. This e vid en c e is irrefutableproof of the truth of the Bible. God promised timeand again that He would scatter Israel among the na~tions and lay the land waste. The word "heathen" inthe King James' translation is the word "nations ".

32 And I will bring the landinto desolation: and your enemieswhich dwell therein shall be as-tonished at it.33 And I will scatter you amongthe heathen, and will draw out asword after you: and your landshall be desolate, and your citieswaste. Lev. 26: 32, 3327 And the LORD shall scatteryou among the nations, and yeshall be left few in number amongthe heathen, whither the LORDshall lead you. Deut. 4:2764 And the LORD shall scatterthee among all people, from theone end of the earth even unto theother; and there thou shalt serveother gods, which neither thounor thy fathers have known, evenwood and stone. Deut , 28:64

Now ask yourself: have the children of Is rael (theJews) been scattered among the nations of the world?

Has the land of Palestine been a wasteland for 1800years? Your answer must be in the affirmative. Hasany other people in the world ever remained as a na-tion while at the same time scattered among the na-tions? A little over 300 years ago, Englishmen cameto America by the thousands. Are they still a distinctnation scattered within the United States? There havecome Frenchmen, Germans, Italians, Jews, etc. Is theUnited States made up of separate national colonies?Of course not, each pe rson lost his nationality andbecame an American, all except the Jew. The Jew re-mains a distinct nation. Why? If you, as a young manof 20 years were sent to France and told you wouldnever return, you could marry a French girl and bevery happy. If sent to Japan, you could marry a Jap-anese girl as many American soldiers did. This isnot true of a Jew. He, normally, in France, Japan,Germany or any nation, would look for and marry aJewish girl. You say, well, that's different. You arequite right; it is different. The Jews are chosen andsepa rated by God and are proof of the truth of HisWord. Then, look at another prophecy.

4 For the children of Israel shallabide many days without a king, and without a prince, and with-out a sacrifice, and without animage, and without an e'-phod,and without ter'-a-phtm:5 Afterward shall the children ofIsrael return, and seek the LORDtheir God, and David their king;and shall fear the LORD and hisgoodness in the latter days.Hosea 3:4,5

God told David that when he heardthe sound of marching in the tops of the mulberrytrees, it was a sign that the Lord was going out be-fore him to smite the Philistines. The printing of theHebrew word seemed to be the faint sound of rnarch-ing which was soon to grow into a mighty roar as Godleads the mighty re-gathering of His chosen people, the Jews.

The wandering Jew, persecuted and mistreated inevery conceivable way, has always looked longinglyto the day when he might return to his homeland. Atthe close of every Passover service, held once eachyear, they recite as follows:

"The following year grant us to be in Jeru-salem.

"Bles sed art thou, 0 Ete rnal, our God, Kingof the Universe, Creator of the fruit of thevine."Blessed art thou, 0 Eternal, our God, Kingof the Universe, for the wine, and for the fruitof the vine, and for the produce of the field, and for that desirable, good, and spacious landwhich thou grantedst our ancestors to inherit,to eat of its fruit, and be satisfied with itsgoodness. Have compassion, 0 Eternal, ourGod, upon us, on Israel thy people, upon Jeru-salem thy city, on Zion the residence of thyglory, and upon thy altar and thy temple; re-build Jerusalem, thy holy city, speedily, in ourda ys ;!This hope of a united Israel restored to their land

burned in the heart of Theodor Herzl. Theodor Herzlwas born in Budapest May 2, 1860. It was under hisleadership that the Zionist Movement was originated. The first Zionist Congress was held in Basle in 1897

The Encyclopedia B r i t a n n i c a says of TheodorHerzl, "Holding that the only alternatives for theJews were complete merging of intermarriage orself-preservation by a national reunion, he boldlyadvocated the second course ,"

It was in 1951 that the Nation of Is rael honoredTheodor Herzl by issuing a postage stamp bearing hispicture on the occasion of the 23rd Zionist Congress.Dr. Theodor Herzl died July 3, 1904. The fiftieth an-niversary of his death was the occasion of anotherpostage stamp in his memory. Still a third stamp wasissued in 1960 commemorating the 100th Anniversaryof his birth.

Soon aft e r the bi rth of Theodor He rzl anothe rgreat Jew was born, Chaim Weizmann. Chaim Weiz-mann was born in Russian Poland, November 27,1874.Dr. Weizmann was a great chemist. He discovered aprocess of synthesizing acetone and as a result of thiswork he was largely responsible for obtaining what isknown as the Balfour Declaration. The Balfour De-claration was actually a very simple declaration writ-ten by Lord Balfou r to Lord Rothschild and approvedby the British Cabinet, November 2,1917. It reads,IIHis Maj esty'.s Government view with favor the esta-blishment in Palestine of a National Home for theJewish people, and will use their best endeavors tofacilitate the achievement 0f th is object, its beingclearly understood that nothing shall be done whichmay prejudice the civil and religious rights of theexisting non-Jewish Communities in Palestine or therights and political status enjoyed by Jews in anyothe r country. Dr. Chaim Weizmann said in his autobiography,TRIAL AND ERROR, p. 208, 11Whilethe cabinet was inses sion, approving the final text, I was waiting out-side, this time within call. Sykes brought the docu-ment out to me, with the exclamation: 'Dr. Weizmann,it 1 S a boy 1 "

This seems like a strange remark to be made atthe approval of such a simple declaration. Yet, onfurther examination this remark seems quite appro-priate, for we read in Isaiah 66:8: "Shall a land beborn in one day? II (ASV)

Chaim Weizmann later became the first presidentof Israel and at his death in 1952, a special postagestamp was issued in his memory.

More than 6,000,000Jews were murdered by the Nazis in Germany, Italy,Poland, Lithuania, Austria, Esthonia, White Russia,Ukraine, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Rumania, Bulgaria,Greece, Yugoslavia, France, Latvia, Belgium, Holland,Denmark, Norway and Finland. Certainly the words ofMoses were literally fulfilled.

64 And the LORD shall scatterthee among all people, from theone end of the earth even unto theother; and there thou shalt serveother gods, which neither thounor thy fathers have known, evenwood and stone.65 And among these nationsshalt thou find no ease, neithershall the sale of thy foot have rest:but the LORD shall give thee therea trembling heart, and failing ofeyes, and sorrow of mind:66 And thy life shall hang indoubt before thee; and thou shaltfear day and night, and shalt havenone assurance of thy life:67 In the morning thou shaltsay,Would God it were even! andat even thou shalt say, WouldGod it were morning! for the fearof thine heart wherewith thou shaltfear, and for the sight of thineeyes which thou shalt see.Deut. 28:64-67

Then came the resolution of the United NationsGeneral Assembly establishing th e Jewish State inPalestine, This resolution, on the one hand esta-blished the State of Israel, but on the other hand, itac tua.l ly partitioned God's land. This date of November 29,1947, is one of greatsignificance in prophecy. An even rn0r e importantdate was soon to follow. Ever since World War I,Great Britain had controlled Palestine un de r whatwas known as the British Mandate. This mandate wasto be concluded May 15, 1948. A few weeks before, fighting broke out between the Jews and the surround-ing Arab states. Then came the most important datein modern times. On the Sabbath Eve (May 14,1948)a declaration 0f the establishment of the State ofIsrael was issued by the People's Council.

The Sabbath (Saturday, May 15, 1948) the peopleof Israel obeyed the law of Almighty God and restedaccording to the commandment.

8 Remember the sabbath day,to keep it holy.9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:10 But the seventh day is thesabbath of the LORD thy God:in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daugh-ter, thy manservant, nor thymaidservant, nor thy cattle, northy stranger that is within thygates: Exodu s 20: 8-10

ERETZ ISRAEL was the birthplace of the Jewishpeople. Here their spiritual, religious and politicalidentity was shaped. Here they first attained to state-hood, created cultural values of national and universalsignificance and gave to the world the ete rnal Book ofBooks.

After being forcibly exiled fr orn their land, thepeople kept faith with it throughout their Dispersionand never ceased to pray and hope for their return toit and for the restoration in it of their political free-dOITl.

Irnpe.Iled by this historic and traditional attach-rnent , Jews strove in every successive generation tore-establish thern sel.ves in their ancient horne.Ia.n d. Inrecent decades they returned in their rnasses . Pio-neers, ma'pilim and defenders, they rnade desertsbl.oom, revived th e Hebrew language, built villagesand towns, and created a thriving cornrnunity, con-trolling its own economy and culture, loving peace butknowing how to defend itself, bringing the blessingsof progress to all the country's inhabitants, and as-piring towards independent nationhood.

In the year 5657 (1897), at the s uITl ITl 0n s of thespiritual father of the Jewish State, Theodor Herzl, the First Zionist Congres s convened and procIa irriedthe right of the Jewish people to national rebirth in itsown country.

This right was recognized in the Balfour Declar-ation of the 2nd November,1917, andre-affirmedinthe Mandate of the League of Nations which, in partic-ular' gave international sanction to the historic con-nection between the Jewish people and Eretz-Israeland to the right of the Jewish people to rebuild itsNational Horne.

The catastrophe which recently befell the Jewishpeople--the massacre of millions of Jews in Europe--was another c 1ear demonstration of the urgency ofsolving the problem of its homelessness by re-esta-blishing in Eretz-Israel the Jewish State, which wouldopen the gates of the homeland wide to every Jew andconfer upon the Jewish people the status of a fully-privileged member of the comity of nations.

Survivors of the Nazi holocaust in Europe, as wellas Jews from other parts of the world, continued tomigrate to Eretz-Israel, undaunted by difficulties, restrictions and dangers, and never ceased to asserttheir right to a life of dignity, freedom and honest toilin thei r national homeland.

In the Second World War, the Jewish communityof this country contributed its full share to the strug-gle of the freedom and peace -loving nations againstthe forces of Nazi wickedness and, by the blood of itssoldie rs and its war effort, gained the right to bereckoned among the peoples who founded the UnitedNations.

On the 29th November, 1947, the United NationsGeneral Assembly passed a resolution calling for theestablishment of a Jewish State in Er
