A Menagerie of ESIP OpenSearch Clients
C. Lynnes, NASA/GSFCK. Keiser, U. Alabama--Huntsville
Client Adoption of OpenSearch• Simplifies time-to-field new applications– Tradeoff (for now) is richness of search capabilities
• UAH Clients– SCS3– Talkoot– IOOS Coastal Modeling Testbed– ED3/DATMAN
• NASA/GSFC Clients– Mirador– Community-based Giovanni– Simple Subset Wizard
SCS3 – Satellite Coincident Search Subscription Service
A tool at the Global Hydrology Resource Center (GHRC) that uses the OpenSearch interface to ECHO’s data broker to provide access to coincident satellite data
http://scs3.nsstc.nasa.gov/
Talkoot: Data Search Module
OpenSearch interface to GHRC, Mirador, and MODAPSStandard Interface for:
• spatial bounds• temporal ranges• keywords
http://miningsolutions.itsc.uah.edu/talkoot/
OpenSearch interface to current Testbed catalog Map based interface Keyword based filtered search
IOOS Coastal Modeling Testbed Data Search
http://testbed.sura.org/datasearch
DATMAN or Event-Drive Data Delivery (ED3)
Prototype functionality that utilizes the same OpenSearch service interface to ECHO as SCS3, to support the fulfillment of event-driven data subscriptions

Mirador searches for similar non-GES-DISC datasets
Community-Based Giovanni
• Community-based Giovanni will allow external organizations to populate and manage their own portals.
• CBG uses OpenSearch to search/access non-GES DISC datasets
Simple Subset Wizard
• Designed to provide a simple user interface to request subsets from any of 10 of the EOSDIS DAACs
• Uses OpenSearch to determine (behind-the-scenes) which granules match the user’s area and timespan
