A Message From Msgr Chris Dear Parishioners of St. Charles:
Lent is a time of self-denial and sacrifice, to be sure. But we should not forget that Lent should also serve as a season to learn and grow in our faith. Accordingly, consider taking part in one of several classes, groups, days of formation, and ongoing parish programs that will be offered here at St. Charles:
· Father Abelardo will be giving an hour-long presentation in Spanish on the four Gospels every Thursday evening in the lower church after the regular Mass and Eucharistic Exposition: in other words, around 8:30 p.m. Beginning March 12, this class asks all participants to read three chapters a night from one of the gospels.
· “A Workshop of Prayer and Life” will run for 15 weeks on Monday evenings from 7-9 p.m. on the second floor of the Urban Center. The workshops will be led by Mr. Ramón Andujar, an active parishioner at St. Charles, who has been trained to give this program, which he has done in a number of parishes in Connecticut. They begin this Monday, March 2.
· A special “Diocesan Ministry Day” will take place next Saturday, March 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at All Saints School in Norwalk. Along with Bishop Caggiano and special guest, internationally known Catholic musician Tony Melendez, there will be speakers from around the country and the diocese delivering hour-long workshops on various pastoral and spiritual topics. I will be giving one of the workshops myself, on the coming, multi-cultural, U.S. Catholic Church. See formationreimagined.org for info and registration; $20 per person.

La Cuaresma es un tiempo de abnegación y sacrificio, sin duda. Pero no debemos olvidar que la Cuaresma también debe servir como una temporada para aprender y crecer en nuestra fe. Por consiguiente, considere participar en una de varias clases, grupos, días de formación y programas parroquiales en curso que se ofrecerán aquí en St. Charles:

workshops. Workshop presenters include clergy and
women religious, speakers from around the country,
and our musical guest, Tony Melendez! The day will
conclude at 4 pm, and lunch will be provided!
