Welcome to the Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners
(MANP). I want to take a moment to thank you personally for your
attendance and support as together we strive to move the role of
nurse practitioners further to practicing to the fullest extent of our
education and training. We hope you are as excited as we are by the
continued progress and success of our association completely
devoted to nurse practitioners. The creation of this association in
2014, is the result of an expressed need for NPs to have an
association focused entirely on their needs and on moving the
profession forward in our state. We are excited to represent approximately 5,500 NPs in Mississippi
on both a state and national level. We are also an organizational member of the AANP. We are
staying true to our mission of providing quality educational programs for NP while recognizing the
importance of NPs in the provision of healthcare in our state. We recognize the need to enhance our
visibility, legislative clout, and participation in key decision-making roles. Through our coalition efforts,
our association helped to expand the BOML’s mileage rule for primary care NPs. Each year our
coalition becomes stronger and our alliances are invaluable in progressing the profession. We would
like very much to have your support as we continue to grow this association.
We are pleased to hold our conference at The Lodge at Gulf State Park Conference Center.
The conference center is a new establishment by Hilton Hotel located at 180 E Beach Blvd, Gulf
Shores, AL 36542, right on the beach! This conference will also provide information on a variety of
exhibitor networking opportunities and educational opportunities. MANP looks forward to working with
you to make the MANP 2019 Conference a satisfying networking experience! Please take time while
you are here to enjoy the beautiful beach and amenities the hotel has to offer. On behalf of MANP, I
would like to extend a personal invitation to you to visit with our Board of Directors. Let us know what
our association can do to support your needs. If you would like to become more involved in the
association, please see one of the directors or myself. If you are a clinic owner or know of a clinic
owner that may be interested in our association, please let us know. If you have any questions,
please call the MANP office at (601) 407-3226 or via email at [email protected] or see a board
member while you’re here. Let us know what MANP can do to make this and future conferences a
successful opportunity for you.
Sincerely,
Tina D. Highfill, MSN, CCM, FNP-BC
