It begins 4am the following day.I’m outside a restaurant with my friend

Sven Banana, some pie, a funkyt-shirt, and an Angry Birds pig.


4am Day 1: Sleep Science

24 hours earlier, I’m fast asleep,listening to positive motivationalmessages from Sleep Science.


5am: WakeMate

5am

I’ve got my WakeMate wristband on,syncing with the iPhone to find theoptimal time to wake me up based

on my sleep cycles.


6am: Lark

6am

With my Lark wristband connectingvia bluetooth, it silently wakes meand coaches me for better sleep

habits. I can dream, right?

It’s time to work out, using FitFu.Using the accelerometer, it tracks

the repetitions of my crunches.

When it’s time to get dressed,I use Go Try It On to ask people

which shirt I should wear.


There’s a clear winner – outfit #1.And the comments are both

helpful and passionate


9am At 9am, I run an errand before work,finding a useful Foursquare tip

when I check in.


I shop around, finding some usefulinfo on an ice cream scoop when

scanning the QR code on it.


Maybe next year

I tried tapping my phone to pay,but apparently I don’t have NFC access

on this older Droid. Maybe nexttime this’ll work better.


10am: Summify, Aurasma

10amI start my workday with mediaconsumption, via social storyaggregators like Summify and

augmented reality apps like Aurasma


11am

At 11, I start sharing things I love,by taking pictures of Rice KrispiesTreats cereal and posting it on my

Pinterest board


12pmI’m getting hungry by noon,

going to sandwich shop Salume,though I lost my mayorship to

Matt from Go Try It On.


1pm

At 1, I play some location-basedgames like Dokobots, where I hunt for

robots and batteries overlayed on a map of my actual location.


2pm

At 2, I’m doing some self-improvement, studying Spanish on

Rosetta Stone’s mobile app.


3pm

Taking a break, I turn to TaskRabbit,a useful site for finding people to do

odd jobs for you.


I post my task – delivering SprinklesCupcakes, and then scan my creditCard via the phone’s lens to make

a payment.


I got my cupcakes in a flash,and he dropped them off so quickly

that I couldn’t even thank the TaskRabbit in person. MMMMM.


4pm

At 4, I try collaborating with mycolleagues on Google+.

Apparently everyone else is too busy working.


5pm

Time to get out of here. My friendAB is around, so we’ll catch up at

a bar to talk shop about digital media.


5pm

We hit up Crosby St Hotel, the firstManhattan to accept TabbedOut,an app that lets you pay your tab

right from your phone.


6pm

It’s 6 and time to figure out dinner.I turn to Kraft’s iFood Assistant for

recipe ideas, and the GroceryIQgrocery list app from coupons.com.


I also tried Checkpoints to scanproducts in the store, earn points,

and try to win raffles. No luck this time.


I also picked up some wine.


7pm

Time to make dinner.I went with my own recipe:

Mac & Cheese & Philly Cream Cheese


While I cooked, I scanned theproducts I had around me and kept

leveling up in Barcode Hero, a gamebased on scanning products’ codes.


8pm

Yum.


During dinner, I used Snooth’simage recognition technology to

identify my wine’s label and bringup reviews about the bottle.


I also used MealSnap, which lets youtake photos of what your eating and

it calculates the calories.It doesn’t always work.


9pm

Time to watch TV…

I use IntoNow to listen to what I’mwatching, pull up content relatedto that show, and let me share it

with my friends.


I also love stickers, so I useGetGlue to earn some.


I have to check out my favoriteBravo shows too, and I use Shazamto connect me to the music played. It works on some commercials too.


10pmIt’s time to go out for the night, and

I’ll use Fashism for feedback.I also go on to boost the ratings of

some of the app’s more unlikely users.


Apparently my ThinkGeek PersonalSoundtrack shirt with working speaker

didn’t get the highest marks.Ninjacat was sweet though.


I also shared my look on Pose,and it made into the featured

collection that night.


10pm: (figure out plans) Localmind, ChaCha – note Google Deals, ask about Pommes Frites

11pm

At 11, I wanted to explore options fora late-night snack. I tried repeatedlyasking Localmind users for ideas,but I wasn’t getting any help yet.


12amI did get a great Google Offer forPommes Frites so I went over forsome massive, crispy fries and an

array of dipping sauces.


Not only did the cook know how toprocess the Offer, but there was

an Android phone connected to theregister to scan the barcode.


I went for the organic black truffle mayo.

Yum.


Sven B.

1amAt 1am, I used Sonar to see if any

people I knew were nearby.Sven Banana, with whom I share

Facebook friends, was close.


2am

Alfred, a new recommendation appfrom Clever Science, helped me find a

good place to eat with Sven thatwas open all night.


Sadly, Yelp says Bubby’s is not good for bananas.


ANYTHINGbut the

banana cream!

3am

He’s a good sport though,waiting outside while I ordered the pie.


I picked up some great pies andposted the photos to FoodSpotting,

where people find spots to eatbased on what dishes look good.


4am

Here we are, back at the beginning.It’s 4am, and Sven and I are

happily enjoying our pie.


mmmmm…chocolate
