The Wheel chair popula-tion is growing and accessibility to transportation is a continues problem for many. Today 54 million people have disabilities with over 3 million Americans utilizing wheelchairs and the number is growing. Families with members in wheelchairs are limited to many events, vacations, outings, and needed health visits due to the problems that are incurred by transporting people in wheelchairs. American Access Mobil-ity Rental has come up with an affordable way to have that transportation for as little as 79.00 a day. American Access has been

Wheel Chair Transportation: Easy & Affordable aware of this growing issue for over twelve years. Having worked in the mobility indus-try for 12 years, owners Jerry and Denise Odglen were made aware of the many people sitting at home that could not get out and enjoy life as comfort-ably as the rest of us. They decided that there may be a way for people to get out of their homes and do more if it was affordable. They have Chrysler and Dodge Mini Vans that are full

ADA compliant conversion vehi-cles to rent to the public. These vehicles are equipped to accom-modate up to two wheelchairs by way of a remote controlled door opener and ramp.

If you have someone or yourself that has had a diffi-cult time getting away due to transporta-tion difficulties,

contact Jerry or Denise Odglen at American Access Mobility Rental at 810-694-5003 or email them at [email protected].

In an effort to address the social, economic and educational issues that affect the health and well-being of the lives we touch, HAP’s East Central Region office in Flint will once again collect new winter boots for children served by Carriage Town Ministries and East Side Mission of Flint, your local homeless shelter. We will collect boots from November through the end of January 2012. You can support Boots for Kids by:

• Serving as a drop-off location for boots (we will provide a kit with everything you need to get started);

• Promoting the program on your website with a link to www.hap.org/bootsforkids (we can provide logos and images); • Promoting the program in your member newsletter(s) and/or at your events (we can

provide articles and flyers). I want to emphasize that the boots you collect will stay in your
