for spinning machines at its state-of-the-art,

eco-friendly factory at Sari, near Ahmedabad.

TeraSpin came into being with A.T.E.'s takeover of the

textile machinery components business of SKF India

Limited in the beginning of 2012. With a clear mandate

HMX, based in Bangalore, designs and

manufactures unique, energy efficient, and

eco-friendly products for space and process

cooling for people & process comfort. The indirect

evaporative cooling products manufactured by HMX

have an innovative heat exchanger technology DAMA

(Dry Air Moist Air) at their core, for which US and

Australian patents are already granted. DAMA has

been type-tested in internal laboratory, which has

been built as per ASHRAE standards, witnessed

and verified by UL.

HMX products not only improve indoor air quality

inside factory sheds and office buildings, but also

provide significant savings in power consumption.

HMX products minimise the use of refrigerants and

energy intensive compressors using different

configurations to supply fresh, clean, and cool air for

• Business Strategy

Sustainability at A.T.E. is an integral part of A.T.E.'s

strategy. The choice of business areas that A.T.E. is in,

and the products and services that A.T.E. develops and

sells, are ways in which A.T.E. has centered its business

strategy around sustainability.

• Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

A.T.E.'s CSR focus areas include rural development,

urban governance, education and welfare of children,

and women's empowerment.

In the 1970s, A.T.E. set up the Associated Industries

Rural Development Trust (AIRDT), adopted villages and

established two health centers in rural Gujarat.

Apart from financial support to NGOs in the education

sector, A.T.E. also provides administrative and intellectual

support to the Urban Design Research Institute (UDRI)

and the Praja Foundation which work to improve urban

planning and governance in India.

The GiveIndia PayRoll programme was adopted to

enable staff members to donate to causes close to their

hearts. Members are also encouraged to volunteer their

time and services if needed during working hours for

SHAILESH SHETHDirector

Shailesh Sheth is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management. He has vast industry

experience over several decades in a variety of managerial roles. He served for several years as a

Managing Director of Perfect Machine Tools, a leading engineering company. Currently, he is a

Corporate Strategy Advisor in management and manufacturing technology to a wide range of

manufacturing and service companies. Mr Sheth is also an Independent Director on the boards of

several companies such as Jost’s Engineering, Bharat Fritz Werner, and KNF Pumps.

DR VIVEK SONI Director

Dr Soni is an independent consultant focused on cleantech investment and business strategy, with

around 25 years' experience. He was educated at IIT and the University of Massachusetts. He has

held senior positions as a corporate and technology strategist with leading corporates in the US

and India and has an excellent financial, business, and technical network in India and the US.

DR S R GANESHDirector

Dr Ganesh had a distinguished academic career in leading institutes: IIT, MIT, and the London

Business School. He also taught at various leading institutes and is now a visiting Senior

Professor at NMIMS, Mumbai. He worked as a senior executive with India's blue chip companies

and has a consulting experience of over two decades in the areas of strategy development,

organisation development, and management development.

ANUJ BHAGWATIHead of the A.T.E. group

Anuj Bhagwati completed his B.S. (Engineering Physics) with distinction (1991) and M.S. (Applied

Physics) (1994) – both from Cornell University, USA. He has been actively involved in a wide

range of activities in the A.T.E. group: he has managed several companies, put together joint

ventures, and been part of divestments, turn arounds, start-ups and scale-ups. He is a social

entrepreneur as well, deeply involved with UDRI, Praja, and other organisations working on

improving the quality of life in Mumbai. He is also passionate about education, serving on the

Advisory Council of the College of Architecture, Art & Planning of Cornell University, and as a

trustee of K J Somaiya Trust.

Shyamlal Bhagwati founded A.T.E. in 1939. He was an

entrepreneur and a social worker. He inducted his nephew Atul

Bhagwati into the business in 1954 to build the fledgling

enterprise. Under the leadership of Atul Bhagwati, a highly

successful businessman and a visionary, A.T.E. expanded its

textile machinery agency business, ventured into

manufacturing through joint ventures, and also diversified into

other fields.
