In fact, this documentary’s main protagonists are the numbers themselves - as each evolves and becomes both a personal and collecve symbol for survivors of the Shoah from 1940 up to the present day. An explosive, highly visual and emoonal cinemac journey created by “Know Producons.” 55 minutes. TBDJ Welcomes Special Guest Lecturer RABBI DR. RAPHAEL SHUCHAT Monday, February 17 at 7:45pm speaking on the topic: The Vilna Gaon’s Understanding of Eretz Yisrael and Redemption Rabbi Dr. Raphael Shuchat was born in Montreal, received his rabbinical ordination from the Israeli Rabbinate and now lives in Yerushalayim. He has an MA in Jewish Thought from the Hebrew University and a PhD in Jewish Philosophy from Bar Ilan University. Rabbi Shuchat lectures at Bar Ilan’s School for Basic Jewish Studies as well as at Ariel University, and has published six books and over 40 academic articles. The draft of his book Olam Nistar- The Theory of Redemption in the writings of the Vilna Gaon won the Minister of Education prize in the late nineties. In 2016, Rabbi Schuchat received a grant from the Israel Science Foundation to further his ongoing research of the Vilna Gaon’s manuscripts and writings. Please note that this lecture replaces our “Tanach B’Shnatayim” Shiur previously scheduled for this time slot. The series resumes on Monday, February 24 with Rabbi Freundlich teaching “Shoftim.”
