Program RequirementsA total of 32 credit hours are required to complete the online MBA.

Core Courses (14 Credit Hours)

Advanced core courses are required courses for every MBA student. No exceptions are granted.

• Operations Management and Quality Enhancement (2 Credit Hours)

• Social, Ethical, Legal Systems (2 Credit Hours)

• Communication Skills for Managers (2 Credit Hours)

• Financial Analysis (2 Credit Hours)

• Data Analytics for Business (2 Credit Hours)

Electives (15 Credit Hours)

Students take five graduate-level business electives to complete MBA requirements. The elective course selection enables students to develop expertise that is customized to their personal and professional goals and interests.

In selecting their electives, students may choose to pursue a concentration equal to 15 credit hours of coursework in any one of the following areas: cybersecurity, data analytics, or compliance, risk and anti-money laundering.

Capstone (3 Credit Hours)

All MBA students are required to take the capstone course in their final semester.

RESIDENCY PROGRAM

The USF Online MBA Residency Program is designed to help students succeed in this program and beyond. At the beginning of the first semester, students attend a mandatory, on-campus residency to network with peers, meet world-class faculty and visit with industry leaders.

DATA ANALYTICS CONCENTRATION

This area of study enables students to develop advanced technical and analytical skills to leverage “big data” in business.

Time to CompletionTime needed to complete the program will vary for each student. Full-time students will need four to six semesters to complete the program, while part-time students can compete it in approximately six-to-eight semesters.

AdmissionQUALIFICATIONS

Applicants for admission to the online MBA program must meet the following requirements:

• Undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited undergraduate institution in the United States or from a recognized institution in a foreign country.

• GRE or GMAT test scores – For the most recent classes, the average GMAT score has been approximately 570. Applicants with five or more years of significant managerial experience may request a waiver.

• GPA of 3.0 or higher

• Language ability – Applicants whose native language is not English or who have not earned a degree in the United States must meet minimum TOEFL scores of 550 for the paper version, 213 for the computer-based or 79 for the Internet-based. Applicants must also score at least a 25 on the verbal section of the GMAT.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

• This online program cannot be used to obtain an I-20 student visa. International students interested in participating in this online program from their home country of residence are welcome to apply.

1. Submit graduate application online and pay $30 application fee. Note your FBA membership.

2. Upload supporting documents to application website:

• Updated professional résumé

• Statement of purpose – One to two pages on why you would like to earn your MBA at USF and what your plans are after you earn it

• Unofficial GMAT/GRE scores for preliminary decisions

• Unofficial transcripts from every institution of higher learning attended

3. Mail official transcripts from every institution of higher learning attended.
