Galileo 360 Fares – International Public Fares 5

Proprietary and Confidential Information

Introduction Galileo 360° Fares introduces state-of-the-art capabilities for pricing airfares.

The Galileo 360° Fares system is one of the most competitive products in the travel industry, encompassing more features of the Airline Tariff Publishing Company (ATPCO) Automated Rule, Routing, and Footnote products than systems used by many of the other global distribution systems (GDS).

Galileo 360° Fares represents the migration of the North American Fare Quote system and International Fare Quote system to a fully automated product. Migration of all customers to the Galileo 360° Fares North American Fare quote system was completed in July 2002, and the migration of all customers to the Galileo 360° Fares International Private Fare quote completed in August 2003.

Within this guide, we are pleased to advise you of enhancements to be implemented with the delivery of International Public Fares Phase 3. This advisory refers to enhancements for Terminal Emulation (TE) users only. Viewpoint and XML advisories will be addressed in separate documents.

BENEFITS Galileo 360° Fares International Public Fares offers the following benefits:

• Implementation of ATPCO Automated Rules for all ATPCO supplied fares resulting in timeliness and accuracy of fare related data. Additionally, support for SITA supplied fares will be accommodated in industry standard automated rules format, thereby fully integrating SITA fares in the 360°Fares system.

• Faster time to market for new and adjusted fare and fare-related conditions.

• Migrate the faring processes to a server-based environment, which is more flexible and timely to update, both with data and software.

• Accommodate the higher intensity of internet-related faring efforts.

• Virtual elimination of discrepancies caused by manual input of rules.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN This document represents the final phase of a multi-phased migration of fare services from the legacy mainframe system to the Galileo 360° Fares platform. This final phase is scheduled for release in 4Q2004.

SITA FARES & PHASE 3 While the approach to integrate SITA fare and rule data into the 360°Fares system will ensure that all data is fully available for fare display and quote functionality prior customer activation, the data base initialization will not include sufficient historical data to ensure a full 90 day history for SITA fares. Full historic data for all SITA supplied carriers will be built from the system load date.

Background The ticketing code and ticket designator code are currently being processed for all North American public and private fares, all International private fares and international domestic public and private fares. This enhancement will now be expanded to include all remaining public fares.

Enhancement Description The initial Fare Display screen will display the Ticketing Code and Ticket Designator Code when filed by the carrier. These codes are also displayed on the ticket when issued. The Ticketing Code replaces the fare class (fare basis) code on the ticket and the Ticket Designator is appended to the end of the fare class (fare basis) code. Both codes are optional and each can be filed independently of each other. The codes will be displayed on the line immediately following the fare line or the Account Number line if coded (ACCT:). The abbreviation for the Ticketing Code is TC followed by a colon (TC:). The abbreviation for the Ticket Designator is TD followed by a colon (TD:). The code for each will display after the abbreviation code. For International displays, there will be no space after the colon, for example TC:SWP30. This is the same format as already implemented for North American fare displays.

For International displays, if both the Ticketing Code and Ticket Designator are coded, then the Ticketing Code will display first followed by the Ticket Designator. The TC will display under the CX (carrier) column and the TD will display immediately following the TC code leaving one space between the codes. If just the TC is coded or if just the TD is coded, the code will display under the CX column.

Background The removal of the alert message VERIFY PASSENGER TYPE is an enhancement for Fare Display. Currently when a user includes a Fare Identification Code (FIC) modifier in the input string, the alert message is displayed.

Enhancement Description The Fare Identification Code (FIC) modifier allows the user to select a specific fare basis code for display. The alert message VERIFY PASSENGER TYPE is displayed whenever the FIC is included in the input.

With this enhancement, the alert message will be removed from all public and private North American local and joint fare displays whenever the FIC modifier has been included in the input.

With the removal of the FIC alert message, all subsequent lines will be moved up allowing for more fares to be displayed on the initial fare display screen.

VALIDATED TARIFF DISPLAY

Impact Fare Products in the following areas will be affected as a result of the Galileo 360° Public Fares project enhancement.

Products Impacted North America Intl Privates Domestic Intl Publics Fare Quote Fare Display Existing Existing X X Best Buy Best Buy Quote Fare Quote Planner Fare and Schedule Display Low Fare Shop Tool Calendar Shop Optimal Shopping Misc.

Background The validated fare/tariff modifier is currently being processed for all North American Domestic and International Private fare displays. This enhancement will now be expanded to include all international displays.

Enhancement Description Fare Display inputs are based on validated and non-validated requests. Validated requests are the more restrictive of the two and requires the validate modifier of ‘V’. When the validate modifier and travel date(s) are included, the system will process specific rule restrictions and eliminate those fares that do not meet the validation criteria. For example, $DNYCLAXV20JUN‡UA will process the rule validation categories based on the outbound date of 20Jun. Entering of two travel dates will allow the user to specify both the outbound and inbound dates.

For International fare display requests, the carrier code is required in a validated fare display request. The validated request requires at least one carrier code and no more than three carrier codes may be included in the request. If a validated request is made and no carrier code is input, the alert message CARRIER CODE REQUIRED is displayed. If the user inputs more than three carrier codes, the alert message MAX NBR CARRIERS EXCEEDED is displayed.

Following are the three validation options that are provided in order to eliminate certain fares from the validation display. The Validation Option can be included either before or after the city pair. For example, the user can enter $DV15DECMIALON‡CO or $DMIALONV15DEC‡CO for the Apollo system.

V $DMIALONV‡UA

V15DEC $DMIALONV15DEC‡CO

V15DEC30DEC $DMIALONV15DEC30DEC‡CO

The following rule categories will be processed when determining the fares to be output in the Validation Fare Display.

• 2. Day/Time (Day of week restrictions only, time of day not validated)

• 3. Seasonality

• 5. Adv Res/Ticketing

• 6. Minimum Stay

• 7. Maximum Stay

• 11. Blackout

• 14. Travel Restrictions

• 15. Sales Restrictions

In addition to the validated fares, the message SEASONALITY/PROHIBITED TRAVEL DATES/DAY-OF-WEEK VALIDATED is displayed indicating that the rule categories have been validated and that the result is a ‘validated fare display’.

With this phase, the Private (:P) or Net Fare modifier (:C) will no longer be required in the input request for International fares. However, the modifier :C is required when requesting net fares, :P will only be used when requesting ONLY Private Fares. The current message ‘V MODIFIER REQUIRES NET OR PFARES’ and message V MODIFIER FOR NORTH AMERICAN FARES ONLY are no longer displayed.

**Note – E-Ticket validation is not available for flat fares filed using Agency Private Fares.

Background Airlines have the capability to file fare rules via ATPCO’s rule Category 15 - Sales Restictions to specify that an electronic ticket (E-Tkt) is required, permitted or not permitted for a particular fare. Currently, the legacy system does not validate and enforce this restriction of Category 15.

Enhancement Description Electronic Ticketing will be validated and enforced in fare quote. This does not apply to agency private fares.

Carriers may want to collect an additional surcharge to allow a paper ticket to be issued. In such cases, a carrier may code a surcharge which would be applied when overriding the E-Ticket only requirement of a fare. The surcharge will be shown in the linear fare line as a Q surcharge.

An alert will be displayed in fare quote to indicate that a particular fare requires that an E-Ticket be issued. When an E-Ticket required fare is quoted, the message E-TKT REQUIRED is displayed. To exclude fares that require electronic ticketing, a modifier of PT can be used. For any fares selected which require paper tickets, the alert PAPER TICKET REQUIRED is displayed.

Fare Display Enhancement The fare display request will include fares that have electronic ticketing information and those that do not. Rule text is generated from the electronic ticketing field to indicate any E-Ticket conditions.

When a fare has been filed with an electronic ticketing provision, the Category 15 text for that fare will reflect the E-Ticket information.

NORMAL OPEN JAW Impact

Products Impacted North America Intl Privates Domestic Intl Publics Fare Quote X X Fare Display Best Buy X X Best Buy Quote X X Fare Quote Planner X X Fare and Schedule Display Low Fare Shop Tool X X Calendar Shop Optimal Shopping Misc.

Background The IATA definition of a Normal Fare Open Jaw is used for pricing unit creation. Open jaws by definition are pricing units comprised of two components where the point of outbound departure and the point of inbound arrival, or the point of outbound arrival and the point of inbound departure are not the same points. Open jaws require the use of half round trip fares.

The IATA definition of a normal fare open jaw has changed. The old definition limited the surface sector at both origin and turnaround to points within a single country.

IATA’s new definition still limits the surface sector at origin to a single country, but the surface sector at turnaround may be between different countries, provided the mileage of the surface sector is not greater than the mileage flown on the shortest fare component of the open jaw. Note: There is no change to the IATA definition of special fare open jaw.

Enhancement Description With this enhancement, international surface sectors at turnaround will be priced as an open jaw, using half round trip fares, provided the surface sector mileage is not greater than the flown distance of the shorter of the two fare components which comprise the open jaw pricing unit.

Ticketed Point Mileages (TPMs) will be used for the surface sector mileage check. If no TPMs are published for the surface sector city pair, the TPM will be calculated by dividing the Maximum Permitted Mileage (MPM) by 1.20. If no MPM is published for the surface sector, the mileage will be determined by using Great Circle Mileage (GCM).

Products Impacted North America Intl Privates Domestic Intl Publics Fare Quote X X Fare Display Best Buy X X Best Buy Quote X X Fare Quote Planner X X Fare and Schedule Display Low Fare Shop Tool X X Calendar Shop Optimal Shopping Misc.

Background Per IATA, the fare to be charged for a journey involving international travel must be established in the currency of the country of commencement of international transportation (COC). This is either the national currency or USD where agreed by Tariff Coordinating Conferences.

In Galileo’s legacy system, when a journey commences in one country with a domestic sector and the commencement of international transportation is from a different country, with an international surface sector in between, the fare quote fails with an alert UNABLE TO QUOTE - REQUIRES SEPARATE TICKETS.

Enhancement Description When a journey originates in one country with a domestic sector, followed by an international surface sector and an international departure from a different country, the pricing response will be the lower of

1) a through fare from the country of journey origin including the surface sector, or

2) a combination of domestic sector fares plus the international fare(s), using NUC processing, with the resulting fare established in the currency of the country of commencement of international travel (COC).

Travel originates with a domestic Great Britain sector LON-BFS. There is an international surface sector followed by the first international departure from Ireland.

The point of sale is Great Britain.

If the fare is assessed from LON to NYC, the international surface sector is included in the fare component and Great Britain is the country of commencement of international transportation.

If the fare is assessed as two fare components - LON-BFS and DUB-NYC, international travel commences at DUB, and the country of commencement of international transportation is Ireland. Since the point of sale is Great Britain, the International Sales Indicator (ISI) is SOTO. The fare will be expressed in EUR and converted to GBP at the BSR.

Background In the legacy International Fare Quote (IFQ) system, the accompanied travel requirement of a fare rule was not validated, allowing discounted passenger types to be autopriced separately from required accompanying passenger.

Enhancement Description For all itineraries, all rules associated with accompanying travel when that requirement is filed by the carrier on a fare will be validated.

Any discount fares that require accompaniment by another passenger type will not autoprice separately. This applies when:

• the discounted passenger(s) are booked in a PNR/booking file separate from the accompanying passenger.

• all required passengers are booked in the same PNR/booking file, but the name select modifier is used to price passengers separately.

For the discounted passenger fares to autoprice, they must be priced in the same fare quote/ATFQ as the required accompanying passenger type. For example:

• Apollo:

• $BN1‡2*C08 (name 1 at adult fare and name 2 at child fare)

• $BN1‡3*INF (name 1 at adult fare and name 3 at infant without a seat fare)

If it is necessary to price a discount passenger type alone, thereby overriding the accompanied travel requirement, both a PTC and a FIC modifier must be used with the Name Select modifier in the pricing request.

• $BN3*INF/¤Y (name 3 at infant without a seat fare)

Background The *IP and *IF are pricing modifiers used in both fare display and fare quote. The *IFnnn is used to increase a fare by a flat specified amount. The *IPnnn is used to increase a fare by a percentage.

Enhancement Description With this phase, these modifiers will be processed for both fare display and fare quote for all fares.

The maximum percentage allowed with the *IPxx modifier is 250%.

The *IF modifier will now allow up to a maximum of 7 numerics.

When using the *IF modifier, the system assumes the amount is the currency of country of origin. The increase is then prorated across the fare components.

For Fare Display, if the IF modifier is used in conjunction with the :NUC modifier to display the fares in NUCs, the IF amount will be converted to NUCs and added to the NUC amount.

NOTE: The :P or :C will no longer be required as in the prior release for the *IP and *IF to be processed. Further, the fare will not be guaranteed if these modifiers are used.

Background The rules text display entry displays the description of fare restrictions that apply to a fare. While this data will continue to be displayed as it is today, the enhancement includes new inputs for retrieving rules text information. The Phase 1 implementation contained these new inputs for fare display follow-on entries for ATPCO fares in all markets. Phase 1 also included the new inputs as a follow-on to fare quote for North American public and Airline Private Fares, and International Airline Private Fares.

The Phase 2 implementation expanded this functionality as a fare quote follow-on entry for all ‘same country’ ATPCO supplied public fares

With the Phase 3 implementation, this expanded functionality for fare quote follow-ons will apply to all fares and all markets.

Enhancement Description The Galileo 360° Fares International Public Fares project, phase 1, implemented a new input to display text by category abbreviation. All text data that is currently displayed using the category ‘number’ will be displayed when the corresponding ‘abbreviation’ is used.

In addition, this implementation introduces three other enhancements:

• Two new category names, DISC and DATE. These are the combination of several applicable rule paragraphs associated to dates or discounts in the rule.

• The alpha character ‘P’ that currently prefaces a rules paragraph request in Galileo and Apollo for International Fares, becomes optional.

Note: This enhancement applies to Terminal Emulation users only. PICs will continue to be available for all non-TE users for 6 months following this implementation. Additional notification will be sent with the cutover details for these users.

Background The implementation of Galileo 360 Fares for North America and International Private Fares saw the introduction of industry standard (ATPCO) passenger types, known as PTC (Passenger Type Codes).

For this phase of the implementation, the Apollo PICs (Passenger Identification Codes) will no longer be valid for any Terminal Emulation users. Only the industry standard, ATPCO, passenger type codes (PTC’s) are to be used.

Enhancement Description Retiring PICs/PDs

After the legacy PICs are retired, when a legacy PIC code or any PTC is used for fare quote that is not filed in the Automated Rules, the system will still attempt to process the request. When there is no data coded for this PTC in automated rules, the system will default and price an Adult fare (ADT), if available. Additionally, the default message BEST FARE FOR PSGR TYPE for Apollo requests will be displayed. For example, if the invalid PTCs CHD (Child) or MMM is input, the system will process the request, fail since no data exists, and price an adult fare with the default message. If the modifier to force the passenger type is used (**PTC) and no fare is available, the pricing entry will fail and the message NO VALID FARE FOR INPUT CRITERIA will be displayed.

Background The discontinuance of various discount modifiers for Fare Display and Fare Quote is part of the Phase 3 implementation. Since the Automated Rules product allows carriers the ability to instruct applicable discounts in their rule filings, some legacy discount modifiers are no longer required.

Enhancement Description There are several discount modifiers allowed for both fare display and fare quote. For this enhancement, the following discount modifiers will be discontinued for the Apollo system. Discount modifiers not listed below will continue to be processed as they currently do today. For example, the Apollo input DPnn (Discount Percentage) will continue to be processed.

If any of the following discontinued modifiers are included in the input message, the system will attempt to process the modifier. Since there is no data coded for the modifier, another fare will be priced, if applicable, along with the default message BEST FARE FOR PSGR TYPE for Apollo requests. For example, if BLnn (Blind Association), PSnn (Press) or SMnn (Ships’ Crew) is input, the system will process the request, fail since no data exists, and price an applicable adult fare with the default message.

Background With the utilization of the ATPCO Automated Rules and Footnotes product, fares may be filed that apply to a specific passenger type based on geographic conditions. The new Personal Geography Modifier will provide the ability to validate fares that have been filed to include specific geographic locations where the passenger might reside or work. Fares formerly available without entering a location code will now require the addition of this new modifier in combination with a PTC code when filed by the airline.

Enhancement Description New Personal Geography Fare Quote Modifier:

This new modifier will be used to enter location information about where the passenger resides or works. This modifier should be used to quote fares that have specific locations restrictions as coded by the carrier (e.g. Must be State Government Employee, etc), and must be used in combination with a valid PTC, including ADT for adult if applicable.

The personal location modifier can be up to 5 characters long, and follows the passenger type code (PTC):

1st position – “L” to indicate presence of personal location modifier

2nd to 5th positions – used to indicate specific geographic location. This includes:

• a 2 position country code (e.g. DE – Germany)

• a 3 position city code (e.g. CHI – Chicago)

• a 4 position code consisting of a 2 position country code, followed by a 2 position US state or Canadian province code (e.g. USCO – Colorado, CAPQ – Quebec).
