WHAT IS FUEDI?

FUEDI, The European Federation of Loss Adjusting Experts, was founded in Paris in 1968.

Its membership consists of the principal national associations of loss adjusting experts.

These highly skilled professionals specialise in particular classes of insurance claims, mainly relating to property

damage, business interruption, contractors’ all risks, transit and liability

To provide Governments and the Insurance Industry within the

European Market with unparalleled professional adjusting expertise

In the course of their training qualified members of the individual associations

have undergone extensive work experience before qualifying

Page 13: A presentation to the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Committee

To ensure compliance with a strict code of conduct

All of the member associations maintain the highest professional standards, each having a code of conduct

compatible with that of FUEDI

To promote loss adjusting expertise through high standards of training and mutually

recognised qualifications

With free circulation and the establishment of professionals within the Single European Market and to

respond to the needs of a rapidly evolving insurance industry, FUEDI has established common standards of

training and examination amongst its members

In 1996 this led to the mutual recognition of loss adjusting experts who had achieved a high level of expertise. The title FUEDI-ELAE, which stands for

European Loss Adjusting Expert was created a year later
