It is the desire of the Oakcrest leadership to continue to follow the recommendations and directions of all local, state, and federal municipalities in dealing with the COVID-19 situation. We believe that by observing good physical distancing protocols and practicing correct sanitation and health practices, we not only follow the call of Christ to be good neighbors, but we exhibit loving kindness to each other and to our neighbors. We believe that the church is a people, not a building or a program, and therefore we trust that God is always active among his people regardless of our ability to gather physically in one place. Until a vaccine is available, Oakcrest must be prepared to adjust to the needs of the COVID situation as it develops and changes. Therefore, all plans are subject to modification. In order to resume in-person gatherings, the church must be prepared to properly sanitize all facilities according to CDC and OCCHD best practices. Any plan must account for all varying demographic within the church, including our most vulnerable members (i.e. children, elderly, those with health issues, etc). All members must be properly educated on what to expect and given guidelines for how to properly interact before church facilities are reopened.
