MTO RWSCU:Responsibilities

� Responsible for managing work on Ontario roadways

� Roadwork may be for construction, engineering

investigation, maintenance, moving maintenance, special

events

� Maintain separation by time and space

� Verify contract provisions are being met

� Primary function of past systems was to maintain a

database of approved notifications for web publication

and performance monitoringand performance monitoring

� Placed a heavy burden on RWSCU staff to:

� ensure the correctness of the submitted notifications

� check for conformance with contract provisions

� identify and resolve conflicts with nearby closures

� perform data entry
