Each first Friday of the month we have a 24 hour Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (from 8am Friday to 8am Saturday) with the Holy Hour of Prayer on Friday at 7pm (this month at 6pm). Adoration ends Saturday morning with Benediction before the 8am Mass.

St. Vincent de Paul Second Collection November 28th and 29th

This weekend we are having a second collection for Santiago’s St. Vincent de Paul ministry. 100% of your generous donations help our parishioners and their families in financial need, within the church’s boundaries. We continue to assist our parish families in crisis with rental and utility assistance, but the need is great and continues to grow. Thank you for your generous support

in the past. We cannot operate without you.

Foreign Currency and Tithing From time to time we receive foreign currency in our Sunday collection. Unfortunately, we are not able to deposit foreign monies with our bank. We hate to throw away currency just because it is of no use to the parish when we know it has value elsewhere, so we ask you to please refrain from contributing with foreign coin. Interfaith Outreach Program through the Alzheimer’s Association of Orange County provides public awareness, education and support to faith based communities regarding Alzheimer’s disease and related illnesses. Are You Prepared for Your Child’s Baptism? Your baby’s Baptism is a time for celebration and joy. We want to help you plan and prepare for the Baptism in the best way possible. Your efforts in preparing for your child’s Baptism will not only help your baby grow up in the love of God, but bless and guide you as parents. Baptism classes are held the first Friday evening of every month (December 4th). Class attendance by parents and godparents must be completed in order for your baby to be Baptized. Friends of St. John The Caregiver Support Group

Are you a family caregiver in need of an inspirational place for support and fellowship? You are invited to join the Friends of St. John, the Caregiver Support Group. We meet the second Tuesday (December 8th) of every month at 6pm in the Santiago Room of the parish hall to provide emotional, educational, and social support to family caregivers through the sharing of fellowship and faith. theme is, “The Importance of Religious Freedom.” Prizes are given to the top three essays from each grade level.

and 7pm Chapter 3 of Mark’s gospel shows how Jesus challenges conventional ways and practices of his time and culture. Jesus sets people “free” and restores them to

human wholeness. A very interesting story about Jesus and his family is MK. 3:31-35, the final section. The crowd around Jesus uses the conventional meaning of “family”, but Jesus looks around and tells them, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”

Dinero Extranjero en la Colecta Dominical De vez en cuando recibimos dinero extranjero en la colecta dominical; desafortunadamente, nuestro banco no acepta depósitos de dicho dinero y por lo cual nos vemos en la penosa situación de tirar este dinero ya que no es de ninguna utilidad para la parroquia, cuando sabemos que tiene valor en otros lugares del mundo. Por esta razón, les pedimos que por favor se abstengan de contribuir su ofrenda dominical con dinero extranjero. Estamos muy agradecidos por su tiempo, talento y tesoro para con nuestra parroquia.

San Vicente de Paul - Segunda Colecta Noviembre 29

Hoy día, la sociedad de San Vicente de Paul tendrá una segunda colecta para beneficios de los más necesitados en nuestra comunidad. Dicha sociedad asiste a familias en crisis financieras a pagar la renta y demás necesidades. Gracias por su auyda y generosidad, este ministerio no podría ayudar sin su generosa colaboración.

Durante este tiempo de Navidad, pidamos que todos seamos siempre conscientes de los dones de la vida, la paz, esperanza y amor. Estos dones solo tienen un nombre y ese nombre es Jesús. Él nos en seño a amar y no hay más amor, que un amor abnegado. Que al llegar a su mesa, podamos venir con corazones puros y mentes limpias dando lo mejor de nosotros mismos.
