A school programme
of creativity and well-
being
Perfect for Covid Catch-up Government Funding & Pupil Premium
Funding.
It has been a difficult time for children, schools, families, artists and communities, but now it is time to find ways to recover and reinvigorate
ourselves. We believe creativity has magical powers. It energises and engages us to learn, it allows us to connect with others, it sparks our imaginations, and can offer escapism from everyday lives.
This June for Art Builders Month, we challenge schools to bring art into the classrooms, using creativity as a way to boost well-being for pupils and teachers alike.
We are on a mission for everybody to get creative and feel good in 2021!
Bringing people together, inspiring, soothing and sharing: these are the powers of art, the importance of which has been made emphatically more obvious during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lotions & Potions
WHAT IS AN ART BUILDERS TOOLKIT? Art Builders Toolkits have been designed, created and filmed by professional artists from Animate Arts Company. They have created filmed and written resources to inspire and guide art activity within your setting. They introduce real-life practicing artists, provide practical activities to do and suggest further
follow-on activities to explore and extend the learning.
WHAT’S IN A TOOLKIT? Each Toolkit includes at least 1 x filmed workshop. You will meet the artist, learn about their practise
and it includes a step-by-step creative activity, suitable for the classroom. Toolkit films are about 15-20 minutes long and aim to provide activity for about two hours – depending on your class’s abilities and dynamics. You will also receive 1 x PDF booklet which includes an invitation to participate in a
big finale project The Recipe Book Of Happiness, and further activities and suggestions to continue the learning and creativity in your class. We also provide templates where necessary.
You can view a sample Artist Toolkit from 2020 on the Resource page of our website.
WHAT MATERIALS WILL WE NEED? You will need tools and materials to complete activities. We provide a list with each Toolkit. The artists work very hard to create activities using low-cost materials and tools that can be found in your school
- or easily sourced. We strive to promote greener ways to make art, so we often use materials like cardboard box packaging and newspapers. You will, of course, need equipment to play the film, and
download/print the PDF booklet.
HOW ARE THE TOOLKITS DELIVERED?We will digitally deliver your Toolkits to the email address that you provide when purchasing.
WHERE CAN I PURCHASE A TOOLKIT?Simply go to our website shop and select the Toolkit that you would like! You can buy any number of Toolkits. We offer discounts if you buy multiple Toolkits, and you can also select any combination of
Toolkits. www.artbuilders.co.uk/shop

Art Builders is a creative programme for schools, spearheaded by Animate Arts Company.
Art Builders is about inspiring schools to programme art activity, giving all young children and teaching staff an opportunity to get
involved in the arts and be creative. Whether daily art lessons, week-long art weeks or big art days, we believe that creativity should be a valued part of the education system. Art Builders
champions art experiences for every child, every academic year.
In June, Art Builders invites schools to make more art happen in the classrooms, halls, playgrounds and beyond. We encourage schools to connect with local and professional artists who can bring a wealth of ideas and inspire learning in creative ways.
The programme offers:• engaging toolkits to use in classrooms• connections with professional artists
and cultural venues• creation of unique and impressive
art works• involvement in multi-school ‘big build’
experiences• CPD and support for teaching staff
Schools that pledge to make more art happen can access this bank of resources and experiences.
