Congratulations to Todd Homan and Ellen Viereckl, who entered into the Sacrament of Matrimony here at Sts. Si-mon and Jude Saturday, March 3. May they be blessed throughout their lives and grow together in their faith!

We welcome the newest member of the Catholic Church Xavier James Korson, son of Michael and Maria Korson, who was

baptized last Sunday, March 4. May he grown in his faith here in our parish family! THE CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES COLLECTION: This week, we are taking up The Catholic Relief Services Collection to respond to Jesus in Disguise. This collection helps six Catholic agencies to provide relief and support to struggling communities and to work toward peace and reconciliation among our marginalized brothers and sis-ters here and around the world. Please prayerfully consider how you can support the collection. Learn more at www.usccb.org/catholic-relief. RICE BOWL ENCOUNTER LENT: We encounter Andrise, a teacher in Haiti who knows the importance of forming young people who will give back to the community—and their country. Reflect on the role teachers have played in bringing you closer to God and your communi-ty. How can you support those, worldwide, who are forced to flee their homes to find safety or better opportunities? Visit crsrice-bowl.org for more. OPIATE ADDICITON EPIDEMIC RESOURCES: For a list of resources and suggestions for families, schools, and parishes to respond to the opi-ate addiction epidemic in Ohio, visit www.columbuscatholic.org/drug-awareness or contact the diocesan Office for Social Concerns at [email protected] or 614-241-2540. THE GOOD SAMARITAN FOOD PANTRY: Collection item for March will be personal hygiene items, like shampoos and conditioners, deodorants, toothpaste and toothbrushes, or bath soap. Each parish family is asked to donate one item for the month. Call Linda Collins 614-879-9186 for more information. MONDAYS OF MARCH, MASS, SIMPLE SUPPER: This Monday, March 12, Mass is 6:00 p.m. followed by Simple Soup and Salad Supper, hosted by the Knights of Columbus. Donations of a least

$5.00 will be accepted and the money will benefit the Rice Bowl. Last Monday’s Simple Supper hosted by the Youth Group netted $83.00 for the Rice Bowl. “Thank you to the Youth Group and all who attended!”

LENTEN CHALLENGE: Listen to Catholic Radio AM820 this Lent—try some-thing new this Lent, listening to AM820 is a good way to deepen your knowledge and love of the Catholic faith.

THE SECOND ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Meatless Pasta Dinners hosted by the Knights of Columbus will be Friday, March 16 and 23 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. during Lent this year! Forget the fish and come enjoy all-you-can-eat meatless pasta, lasagna, and ravioli with Ann & Tony’s world fa-

mous tomato sauce!

EASTER FLOWERS: There is a Special Collection for Easter Flowers next Sunday, March 18. There is an envelope in your monthly mailing or envelopes are available in the Gathering Space. Please give in memory or in honor of the special people in

your life. The Solemnity of St. Joseph coincides with our Mass at 6:00 p.m. and Simple Supper hosted by the Women’s Guild to follow on, March 19. As Patron Saint of the family, home and the working man Saint Joseph is one of the most beloved saints. Italians mark the holiday with religious ceremonies, large dinners and other merrymaking. Because Saint Joseph is also the Patron of the poor and the aged, the dinners are often shared with the less fortunate. Please bring a loaf of bread, which Father Metzger will bless. These loaves of bread will be given to The Good Samaritan Food Pantry in West Jefferson. ST. PATRICK IN LONDON is hosting “Gospel Road” (week long service mission) for all high school teens in July. If you are a non profit organi-zation or resident of Madison County and in need of help, you could petition to be one of our work sites. Contact Katie Jones for more details. YOUTH MASS: Come to Mass at 5:00 p.m., April 15 and stay after for fellowship. All ministries should be led by Youth so please volun-teer to help! Questions contact Katie Jones. MARCH IS DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES MONTH: The National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD) facilitates the implementa-tion of the Pastoral Statement of U.S. Catholic Bishops on People with Disabilities by calling for inclusion of people with disabilities in the life of the Church and society. Many of NCPD’s helpful resources can be found online at www.ncpd.org. Interested in learning more about the S.P.I.C.E. program (Special People In Catholic Education)?
