WEDDINGS AT JUPITERJupiter Artland is a magical award winning contemporary sculpture garden 20 minutes drive from the centre of Edinburgh. Jupiter and its 100 acres of woodland, meadows and sculpture can be fully enjoyed as part of your wedding day. Whether its an intimate ceremony with only a few very special people or a much bigger gathering, Jupiter Artland offers the flexibility to create a fabulous day for you. No other setting is as intimate, beautiful and extraordinary and we encourage you to create personal touches that will make the day reflect you as a couple. Memories of your day are so important and nowhere else offers such wonderful opportunities - imagine walking through the “Cells of Life” to get married, gathering at the “Temple of Apollo” to exchange vows in front of a few special guests or having a specially designed cocktail served from the ultra cool vintage Silverstreak …memories are made of this!

At Jupiter Artland we want your day to reflect you. We have a variety of unique locations within the estate that offer magical options to ensure your day is like no other.


When the knot has been tied, let us welcome you to Jupiter Artland with a complimentary bottle of champagne to help kick off your evening reception. Dine by the famous Charles Jencks, “Cells of Life” and enjoy a secluded private setting in a stunning marquee where you can share delicious delights served by Cater Edinburgh and watch exciting fireworks overhead. For something more enclosed with striking views over the Forth Bridges, dine in our Steadings Courtyard or in our Garden Cottage Marquee. To make your evening extra special why not serve cocktails from our very own Silverstreak!


Combine one of our prime locations for your afternoon ceremony with an evening reception and enjoy a relaxing yet elegant day at Jupiter Artland.

Following the ceremony your guests can enjoy prosecco and canapes in the Steadings, warmed by the fire pits whilst you and your partner explore the estate to capture images of your special day.

Take a pause from the crowds and enjoy the secluded “Temple of Apollo” by legendary Scottish Artist Ian Hamilton Finlay, or gaze at the stars under Turner Prize winner Antony Gormley’s “Firmament” and enjoy a couple of quiet moments together before the events begin!

Proposal Room | maximum 30/40 persons | Available October, - April | £750 excluding VAT17th Century barn conversion with views from the terrace across the Firth of Forth. The Proposal Room features a contemporary artwork installation by artist Peter Liversidge. A spectacular setting for an intimate ceremony set by the roaring wood burning stove. Suitable for small dinners and drinks reception.

Steading Gallery | maximum 80 persons | Available, October - April | £2000 excluding VATA long barn now home to some of the most contemporary art in Scotland, modern, clean lines with a superb artwork by Andy Goldsworthy, “Clay Tree Wall”. Suitable for ceremonies and receptions.

Grass Circle Marquee | maximum 80 persons | Available, all year | £3000 excluding VATElegant traditional marquee set with the Grass Circle and located at the tip of the woodland. Ideal for large receptions and ceremonies.

Jupiter Artland works exclusively with run by Barry Bryson, an Edinburgh based food lover who has a considerable reputation for providing food to galleries and well known private clients. Barry will work alongside our team at Jupter Artland to ensure the smooth running and success of your special day. Cater are committed to using local fresh and seasonal produce, everything is hand made in Cater Edinburgh’s kitchen.

Jupiter ArtlandGeneral Information

All bookings taken for 2014 are provisional until the Jupiter programme of activity is confirmed. We may also block out certain times of the year due to exhibitions, events and installations. We will advise on dates when we are aware there may be certain disruption around the Artland. This will usually occur during gallery exhibition change over and in winter months.

Booking the RegistrarThe Registrar who performs the ceremony must apply for the wedding licence.

PhotographyWe can recomend photographers who have worked with us before at Jupiter Artland, the photographer must also agree to respect the sculptures, artwork and artists by not encouraging or taking photographs of people climbing, sitting or any other misuse of Artworks.

ConfettiDue to the importance of the landscape we will only allow the use of real petal confetti and this may only be supplied by Jupiter Event Manager.

FlowersWe work closely with high quality local florists who we can recommend but you are welcome to provide your own floral arrangements.

Evening EventsAll functions must end no later than midnight and the bar must close at 11.30 PM due to licencing.

EntertainmentWe can recomend entertainment services familiar with Jupiter Artland. We are also happy for you to provide your own entertainment, but they must have public liability insurance and be PAT certificated for all appliances used on site. Copies of these certificates, must be supplied prior to event.

Wedding Setup | DismantlingSetup of your wedding must be discussed with your Event Manager at least two weeks prior to the event.

Themed EventsTable menus, seating plans and table settings can all be designed to reflect the sculptures at Jupiter Artland. All information must be provided to your Events Manager four weeks priour to your event. Additional costs will apply.

CarriagesWe can arrange taxis for your guests. Booking in advance of any event is strongly advised and we ask that when you leave Jupiter Artland you ensure your guests respect our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum. Jupiter Artland is not responsible for the cancellation of taxis and we cannot guarantee last minute requests.

CateringJupiter Artland provides excellent quality catering for all events, our caterer Barry Bryson has worked with us on numerous weddings and events at Jupiter Artland. Only food and drinks provided by Jupiter Artland should be consumed on the premises. The only exception is the wedding cake which we would be happy to display and serve. It is your responsibility to provide a list of ingredients and details of the provider.

Deliveries & Left ItemsBefore making any arrangements please ensure we can accept any deliveries for your event. We are happy to help as much as we can but have limited storage so timings are important and must be agreed in advance by making arrangements with your Event Manager. Jupiter cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen items. We can provide a lockable room for any items, gifts etc, these must be handed to your Event Manager.


Jupiter ArtlandGeneral Information

AccommodationWe are happy to assist with accommodation nearby at preferential rates.

ParkingFree parking is provided for all guests at Jupiter Artland. Cars can be left overnight, but collection times must be arranged in advance. Please advise your guests not to leave valuable items or gifts on display in their cars.

Jupiter RulesPlease can you inform your guests about the Jupiter Artland rules. Particularly relating to climbing, sitting or other misuse of artworks. It is your responsibility to ensure guests adhere to these rules.

Fireworks & Night LanternsWe are happy to assist with arrangements around your firework display. Unfortunately night lanterns are not permitted.

Provisional BookingOur clients must confirm in writing by email the day they wish to reserve. Jupiter Artland will provisionally hold that date for one calendar month. To confirm this date an invoice for 50% plus VAT must be paid within the four week period. If another booking is requested for the same date, Jupiter Artland will contact the original client who will be asked to confirm within 48 hours and pay the 50% deposit within two working days. If the original customer cannot confirm at that stage, the date will be released to the other client.

Confirming a BookingA booking will only become a confirmed booking on receipt of a 50% deposit of the total hire fee plus VAT. The Events Manager will confirm receipt of deposit and booking.

CancellationsIn the event of a cancellation a confirmed booking deposit cannot be refunded. All other facilities booked will require cancellation fee as per suppliers cancellation policies. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing to Jupiter Artland Event Manager who will acknowledge receipt of cancellation.

All marquee hire must be conducted through Jupiter Artland’s approved suppliers. Please discuss with your Event Manager.

Fixtures to walls, floors and ceilings in our gallery areas is not permitted without consent from the Event Manager. Any damages will be costed back to the client.


DIRECTIONS

Travelling to Jupiter is easy and we’re only 20 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh. If you are using satellite navigation, be warned you will end up in the middle of a field upsetting our very patient neighbours. PLEASE do follow our instructions on the internet, there is only one entrance to Jupiter and that is via the B7015.
