Agee Family Fund: in honor of Martha Agee

It is our pleasure to present the 2017-2018 Annual Report. The individuals profiled in this report are just a few of the benefactors or beneficiaries who are as passionate about education as we are.

The Fayetteville Public Education Foundation was established in 1992 by dedicated alumni, parents and community members committed to further enhancing the exceptional educational experience for which Fayetteville Public Schools are known.

We deliver on this commitment through a $4 million endowment to provide grants to teachers and scholarships to students. This investment in education guarantees that vital programs will remain in place in perpetuity for future generations of Fayetteville students.

MEET A BENEFICIARY“Thanks to the grant that the ALLPS School of Innovation received from the FPEF, we are empowering our students with resources that they need. Our ALLPS TV program is growing and our students are putting in practice skills gained in the classroom and having real life experiences in the field of filming, broadcasting, and journalism.”

“Dr. Benny A. Winborn, a long time NWA educator, administrator and coach, was an advocate for less fortunate students. His deep love of Fayetteville also led him to spend thousands of volunteer hours supporting students with disabilities, accessible parks, scouting and youth baseball. To mirror Dr. Winborn’s advocacy and altruism, this scholarship fund was developed to help students further their education in an education or community service major.”

The endowment is made up of a merged pool of invested funds that allow donors to provide scholarships to our students and grants to our teachers. The principal investment from the endowment is never spent; instead, the interest earnings from the funds are used to support teachers and students, ensuring that resources remain in place for future generations.Gifts from parents, alumni, community members and businesses become an educational legacy by designating their fund for a specific purpose, program or department, and can be named in honor or memory of an individual, family or group.

FAYETTEVILLE PUBLIC EDUCATION FOUNDATION ENDOWMENT

The Fayetteville School District serves every child who walks through the door, regardless of race, ability, or income. Through state-of-the-art grants submitted by our teachers, students experience extraordinary educational opportunities - many for the first time. The blend of innovative teacher ideas with broad community support creates a synergy that couldn’t exist independently of each other. It only takes a quick scan of our current grant recipients to see the ideas brought to life by our benefactors. The following is a comprehensive list of grants that elevate our students’ educational experiences from strong to exceptional.

MEET A BENEFACTOR“We support the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation because we have been overwhelmed by the quality of instruction offered by the schools. Over and over again, we are amazed at the teachers who have challenged and inspired our children. Teachers like the robotics coaches, who give their time after class and on weekends, helping our kids dream big about technology and the future. We support the foundation so we can help make sure our teachers have every resource they need.”

MEET A BENEFACTOR

MEET A BENEFICIARY

“The process of continuous learning and getting an education has always been important to our family. We are both products of public education. Nirmal’s family has supported Fayetteville Public Schools and the University of Arkansas through teaching, attending, and active participation for well over a half a century. It is our honor and pleasure to support the Fayetteville Public Schools where we have our three children attending.”

“Each year our students get excited about the Creative Cats

summer program. It is so precious to see the little fist pumps go up in the air when they realize we will spend the summer months

learning and having fun. Without the generosity of the Foundation’s

donors, we could not continue offering such an enriching

program to our children who need these opportunities and

experiences the most.”
