What can we do this week to show our kindness, compassion and forgiving attitude toward others in our family of faith? Special Blessing for Expectant Mothers: There will be a special blessing given to all expectant Mothers who attend Mass here at St. Anthony’s the weekend of August 15/16. Invite those you know who are expecting. End of Summer Bash: St. Anthony of Padua’s 3rd Annual End of Summer Bash will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 following the 4 pm Mass. Please join us and bring your favorite appetizer to share! Religious Education: Registration for Religious Education Classes for students in non-Catholic schools will be held after all Masses on the weekends of August 9, 16, and 23. Bash will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015

following the 4 pm Mass. Please join us and bring

your favorite appetizer to share!

Religious Education:

Registration for Religious Education Classes for

students in non-Catholic schools will be held after all

Masses on the weekends of August 9, 16, and 23.

Fee: $25 covers the cost of the child’s book. Classes

begin Tuesday, September 8 at 6:15 pm in the

school auditorium. Parents must come to the audi-

torium for dismissal at 7:30. If this is the child’s first

year in our program, please provide us with a

copy of the Baptismal Certificate.

Próximos eventos Educación Religiosa: La inscripción para las clases de educación religiosa para los estudiantes en las escue-las no católicas será después de todas las Misas de los fines de semana del 9, 16, & 22 agosto. Una tarifa de $25 incluye el costo del libro. Clases empiezan martes, el 8 de septiembre a las 6:15 en el auditorio de la escuela. Padres deben venir al audi-torio por despido a las 7:30. Celebrando a Nuestra Primera

Corresponsable Cristiana:

La Santísima Virgen María

El 15 de agosto celebramos la Fiesta de la Asun-ción; día que recordamos a Nuestra Madre

Santísima siendo asunta al cielo y coronada reina. En la lectura del Evangelio de este día nosotros

escuchamos una vez más la proclamación del

Cántico de María, grabado en el Evangelio de San Lucas (1:46-45). Este es el canto de gozo de la

Virgen María en respuesta al saludo de su prima Isabel (Lucas 1:41-45), y resume la profunda fe y

confianza de María en Dios. Este alegre canto, es también conocido como el Magnificat, por la linea

inicial de la traducción del latín de la escritura que significa “Mi alma glorifica al Señor” (“Magnificat

anima mea Dominum”.) El Magnificat es una her-mosa oración de corresponsabilidad usada por la

Iglesia todos los días desde el siglo V. Es un himno de la Oración de la Tarde en la Liturgia de las

Horas.

El Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica nos enseña que el Magnificat: … es el canto de la Madre de Dios y

de la Iglesia; el canto de la Hija de Sión y del nuevo Pueblo de Dios; el canto de acción de gracias por

la plenitud de la gracia derramada en la economía de la salvación, y el canto de los “pobres” cuya

esperanza se satisface por la realización… (#2619). Entre los numerosos temas de corre-

sponsabilidad en esta lectura, la oración nos ayuda a darnos cuenta de que el plan de corre-

sponsabilidad de Dios pone los valores del mundo al revés. Dios viene en ayuda del pobre y el hu-

milde, en detrimento del rico y poderoso. Y para aquellos que confían su vida al Señor, ellos son

llenados de cosas buenas. Cómo una joven mujer, humilde y pobre, María, es una intérprete del plan

de salvación de Dios, ella nos revela los funda-mentos de la buena corresponsabilidad, y ella es

un testigo profético para la justicia social de todas las futuras generaciones quienes “me llamarán

bendita” (Lucas 1: 48). María fue la primera discípula, la primera corresponsable cristiana del

plan de Dios. Dedique unos momentos y haga esta

oración de corresponsabilidad. Considere sus implicaciones para su vida. ¿Cómo glorifica usted

al Señor? ¿Cómo hace usted a Dios “más grande” en el día-a-día de su mundo? ¿Cómo lleva usted la

compasión de Dios al pobre?

Padre celestial, nos has dado un modelo de vida en la Sagrada

Familia de Nazaret. Ayúdanos, oh Padre amoroso, a hacer de nuestra familia otro Nazaret donde reine el amor, la paz y la alegría. Que sea

profundamente contemplativa, intensamente Eucarística, vibrante de alegría. Ayúdanos a permanecer unidos en la alegría y en el dolor, en la oración en familia. Enséñanos a

ver a Jesús en los miembros de nuestra familia, especialmente en su rostro de dolor. Haz que el corazón Eucarístico de Jesús haga nuestros corazones humildes como el suyo y

ayúdanos a sobrellevar las obligaciones familiares de una

manera santa. Haz que nos amemos unos a otros como Dios nos ama a

cada uno de nosotros, más y más cada día, y

que perdonemos mutuamente nuestras

faltas como Tú perdonas nuestros

pecados. Ayúdanos, oh Padre amado, a

recibir todo lo que nos das y a dar todo lo que
