INTRODUCTION A petrol station is a facility that sells fuel and
engine lubrication, offers mini marts and equipped with service
station for wheel balancing, lubrications and alignment STRENGTH
Many automobiles on campus
Erratic power supply to the University and its environs calls for
the use of diesel Many Engineers and experts on campus as
consultants Large acreage of land Linkage with major marketers like
NNPC on partnership terms The University is on a busy highway
strategic to motivate customers Sources of Tax and VAT to the state
government Stress reduction among students Added of aesthetic value
EKSU SWOT ANALYSIS (PETROL STATION)
WEAKNESS Needs for leakage test on tanks. The location not
strategic. Current state of the station is unattractive No
functional generating plant Outdated dispensing pumping machines
Irregular supply of petroleum products to the station SWOT ANALYSIS
(PETROL STATION)
OPPORTUNITY A good Industrial site training site for students.
Provision of employment opportunities To stimulate and sustain the
administration interest Encouragement of staff punctuality and
stability at work SWOT ANALYSIS (PETROL STATION)
THREAT Possible embezzlement of fund generated Fire accident
Competiveness from existing stations Fund and funding challenges
Attraction of miscreant to campus Non residential nature of the
University RECOMMENDATIONS A new site near the second gate,
adjacent to the high way is recommended for a standard EKSU Petrol
Station The station should be lease out to a reputable petrol major
marketer like NNPC or NIPCO The existing petrol station should be
converted to diesel dump site, as reservoir, for the University. A
feasibility study should be conducted on the petrol station
soonest.
