Using Artevea TETRA-over-IP systems can

As a global open standard, TETRA allows a

mix of different manufacturers’ terminals on the

same system, Artevea are active participants in

the TETRA Interoperability testing forum and

have successfully trialled all the leading suppliers

of terminals on our system.

With the added advantage of Artevea’s

T-MATRIXTM TETRA-over-IP (ToIP) infrastructure,

communication networks can be as modular and

flexible as required. Artevea designs completely

scalable transportable radio sites (T-MATRIXTM P)

or fixed radio site installations (T-MATRIXTM F).

Each radio site can be a seed for a larger multi-

site network by adding extra components.

Better still, T-MATRIXTM is insulated against

system failure. T-MATRIXTM ToIP uses Advanced

Distributed Architecture for Call Processing and

Databases instead of a central switch, thereby

removing any single point of system failure. If a

radio site becomes detached from a network it

will continue to operate locally with no loss of

functionality. The other sites remain connected

and operational while the link is being restored.

With a distributed system, work stations,

gateways and network management

components can be located anywhere on the

network that is convenient, rather than having to

locate resources close to where the equipment

needs to be.

T-MATRIX™ is the next generation TETRA

platform designed and developed exclusively by

Artevea. The T-MATRIX™ TETRA platform

constitutes the engine behind all TETRA

Products produced by Artevea. The Technology

is based on the design principles for delivering

fully distributed, flexible and reliable TETRA

Networks. The T-MATRIX™ Technology utilizes

the right combination of Commercially Off The

Shelf (COTS) and Specialized Software and

Hardware Components to deliver the most cost

effective solution.

The T-MATRIX™ Technology is Flexible because

any of the T-MATRIX™ elements (Network

management consoles, work stations and

gateways) can be located anywhere in the

network thereby eliminating reliance on a central

switch.

The T-MATRIX™ Technology is Reliable because

it uses Advanced Distributed Database

Management, Processing and standard TCP/IP

Routing techniques. The networks can be

designed using star, mesh or mixed topology,

ensuring continuous multi-site operation.
