A Waterside Wedding With Fabulous Food...

Hi Everyone :) This latest real wedding is a little different from the norm - we have an interesting and very beautiful wedding venue, and the son of an extremely famous chef featuring too.

I was captivated by these photographs, which were submitted by London documentary wedding photographer and wedding photojournalist, Mark Carey - I love how they tell a story and how the couple are captured looking so natural on film - no formal group shots here you notice? I also adore the Bride's elegant appearance, with her grecian style pronovias wedding alcazar and real flowers in her hair.

Mr & Mrs North got married on 29 August at The Waterside Inn, Bray, Berkshire and our Bride's elegant pronovias wedding albufera was a Pronovias design...

"I wanted something simple and elegant; a pronovias wedding alcala befitting of a small, intimate wedding in the private dining room of The Waterside Inn. Justin and I had previously dined at The Waterside Inn and were impressed with the calibre of the food and the service. It is set in the picturesque village of Bray along the 'jewel' of the Thames and seemed like the perfect setting for our wedding which included our immediate family and some extended family members, who were travelling from Australia to share our special day with us."

The Bride wore fresh flowers in her hair - so pretty...

The couple stayed at the Boathouse19, a luxurious riverside cottage on the banks of the Thames directly overlooking Windsor Castle...

"The venue provided the ultimate setting for pre-wedding drinks on the private river decking with our guests, but also a tranquil atmosphere for getting ready on the morning of the wedding - an atmosphere that could allay any nerves..."

The Bride walked down the aisle to The Gift, by Greg Maroney, a track that has special meaning to the couple...

Rings by Debeers...

"My Husband selected my engagement ring from De Beers - a solitare diamond ring with a platinum setting. Both our wedding bands were also purchased from De Beers, as were our wedding presents to each other - cufflinks for him and diamond earrings for me!"

What a very important job hs has below there, caring for that ring!

Martyn Crossley Magic...

A lovely shot of the Bride's bouquet below...

"The flowers that we selected were 'English country garden' in faded pastel colours - flowers included Roses, Freesia and Hyacinths. Although Hyacinths are not in season during August, it meant a great deal to me to have them incorporated into our day, in memory of my late mother who was named 'Hyacinth'. Despite unsuccessful calls to numerous florists and greenhouses, Martyn Crossley magically produced them on the day, the most wonderful surprise! As a back-up Justin even brought back some Hyacinth bulbs from Australia so that we could grow them in time for the wedding..."

I love how this shot captures the Brides pronovias wedding alcanar design - grecian and beautiful and the flowers in her hair really finish off the look. Note she does not wear a necklace, but opts for an understated look with a beautiful Georg Jensen bracelet and simple De Beers diamond earrings... The couple enjoyed a seven course, three Michelin star, degustation lunch at The Waterside Inn.

"The private dining room at The Waterside Inn was, until recently, exclusively reserved for use by The Queen and members of the royal family for private functions. The room is elegantly furnished and adorned with pieces selected by Michel Roux's wife, including exquisite candelabras which were presented as a gift from the late Queen Mother.

The ceremony and celebratory lunch were both held in the private dining room of The Waterside Inn, a intimate room reflecting elegance and understated style. This relaxed atmosphere and the impeccable service of the staff, meant that Justin and I, and our guests, could relax, have fun and enjoy every moment of the day..."

Food was clearly a very important feature of this couple's day and I love how Photographer Mark Carey captured the Chef's at work whilst the wedding party enjoyed themselves...Wow! What an elegant wedding cake - it was decorated with fresh roses provided by Martyn Crossley...

"Alexander Taylor Cakes was recommended to us by The Waterside Inn. After a number of cake tasting samples, we opted for a rich chocolate cake - a top tier cake and 20 individual cakes arranged over two tiers underneath, decorated with fresh roses. The individual cakes were subsequently packaged in bespoke boxes and presented to guests at the close of the day..."

"After a 5.5 hour lunch comprising seven incredible courses (including a visit from Alain Roux, as well as the Brazilian ambassador who was dining in the main restuarant), we all made our way to the restaurant's private river decking for a one hour boat charter along the Thames which concluded at The Oakley Court Hotel, where our guests were staying."

After the Justin and I then returned to the Boathouse19 only to find the house lit in candles with romatic music playing and flowers decorating the staircase to the bedroom - compliments of Mark & Kim, the owners… the perfect end to a perfect wedding."

Words of Wedded Wisdom...

"You hope to do it once, so go all out, have fun and make it a day to remember. Don't be led by convention, the expectations of others, or traditions that you feel don't match your style. The most important thing is that you have the man of your dreams by your side.

We wanted a magical day for our guests to say thank you for travelling the long distance to share our special day with us. We wanted a romatic day with a touch of 'extravagance'."
