Learn Aikido. Foster Friendships. Join our Aikido lesson every Tuesday at Ryugenji Temple near Jiyugaoka, Meguro. Aikido is a traditional Japanese martial art focused on fostering respect for others. Practice is done in pairs with both sides taking a turn. This method of practice allows the development of good habits and isn't dependent on physical strength.

・Date:Tuesdays ・Time:4:30pm~5:30pm ・Open to: Children, 4 years old and up. ・Lesson fee: 1,000 yen per student per class ・Additional fees: Sports insurance (annual 800yen per student), Temple hall donation (optional, monthly 500yen per family) ・Venue:Ryugenji Temple (see map for address) (Closest stations: Tokyu Toyoko Line Toritsudaigaku (7min) or Jiyugaoka (10min))
◆Payment Information ・Lesson fee is collected at the beginning of each class. ・Sports Insurance is collected upon class registration. Detailed instructions will be provided by the facilitator. ・Temple hall donation (optional) is collected at the first lesson of each month.

Shota Sugawara (菅原章太)
Certified Instructor at Aikido Mugenjyuku. Shota holds the rank of Ni-dan (2nd degree black belt) in the Yoshikan Organization. Born in 1987 in Miyagi, Japan, Shota commenced Aikido training under the instruction of Malik Thahid. In 2017, he joined Aikido Mugenjyuku Tokyo (Shinagawa) opened by Chris Crampton where he trains and teaches classes to adults and children. Shota has also completed a special training course at Aikido Mugenjyukyu headquarters in Kyoto.
