Anthony Macchione had assists, and Allison and Josiah Pa- checo each added one. “We had a lot of good combination play,” Minder said. “Our midfield played well together and our backline was solid. Every- thing came together for us, which was good.” The first goal for Camas didn’t come until the 17th minute. The Papermakers scored three more times in the next 23 minutes to build a 4-0 advantage at halftime. “I always tell my players that a game is 80 minutes long,” Minder said. “The momentum can always swing. You never say the game is over after the first 40 minutes.” Camas remained in control. Mountain View did not score a goal until the final 30 seconds of the game. Camas goalkeeper Conner Heredia collected four saves. The Papermakers also knocked off Evergreen 2-1 Friday, at McKenzie Sta- dium. Pacheco headed in a goal on a pass by Bryce Ponder to break a 1-1 tie midway through the second half. Macchione scored the first goal of the game for Camas on an assist from Allison. A determined Camas High School boys soccer team turned Mountain View away with a 5-1 vic-tory league opening Mon-day, at McKenzie Stadium.

“Mountain View was picked by people to chal-lenge us for the league title,” said head coach Ro-land Minder. “Every game is important to get a win in league.”

Adam Allison and Nate Beasley both delivered two goals for the Papermakers, and Micheal Koceja net-ted the fifth one. Anthony Macchione had assists, and Allison and Josiah Pa-checo each added one.

“We had a lot of good combination play,” Minder said. “Our midfield played well together and our backline was solid. Every-thing came together for us, which was good.”
