DESCRIPTION
ADS3 PresentationTRANSCRIPT
To enhance the physical environments through the visual arts component and encouraging on-going interest in the Western Interchange, the proposed installation will provide an entry statement and arrival experience for those who travelling along the Princes Freeway and those who entering the urban precinct of the municipality. With the iconic eye-catching and exciting values, the installation will become the new identifier for the municipality and encourage the sense of pride within the local community.
Merging the concept of “Old and New”, Melbourne, which used to be the capital of Australia, inherited the old and modern tradition. The coexisting of these tradition and modernity shapes Melbourne City into both old and new elements. To express this contradictory culture, the proposed installation will indicates the contrast transaction through the transformation of geometric shapes into irregular shapes, the connectivity between static and dynamic forms, and lastly challenge the typical use of materials to enhance the experiential approach.
