They have used the title to incorporate the two main things you will see in the film: the silhouette of the girl for the A, and also the cross again for the A.

They have used the fact it has the same producers as “Shaun of the Dead” to advertise to the same target market as they are similar films.

They have put the tagline “Sexy and Bloody” in bold to stand out and catch the attention of the public.

By having the actors James Corden and Mathew Horne on the DVD cover it may convince people to buy the DVD or go watch the film as they were very popular comedy actors at the time of the DVD’s release

By having a semi naked woman on the front it catches the attention of possible buyers and targets their main audience of 15-21 years olds.

Two severed fingers to relate to the fact it’s the 2nd saw movie.

The age certificate is clearly displayed to show that its that gory its an 18 which makes people want to watch it more.

The picture of a man in pain strapped in one of jigsaw contraptions shows to the viewer the horrific nature of some of his games.

They have edited the common montage of a few images in a row by cutting the outlines to look like a saw.

The use of quotes is used to sell the film as its saying that no films can match its gory and scariness of the film.

The fire in the shape of the batman call sign on the building shows the destruction of the city of Gotham and the violence and action in the movie.

The low angle shot of batman is being used on the cover to make him look bigger and scarier.

Joker being on the back shows who the villain in the movie will be and what to expect from the movie.

The tagline relates to the title of the movie as it involves the dark night. It also shows that the film will be darker and scarier than any of the previous films. The tagline also can relate to the bat sign as that’s the only light on the cover.

A montage of images selected from the film is used to show main action moments from the movie to sell it more to the viewer.

The darkness of the cover relates back to movie title of the “dark knight”

The pie has replaced the traditional wedding cake which could show that this wedding is going to be far from normal.

Again a montage of pictures from the movie to show what the movie will be about.

The age certificate on the front to advise people what age as there is constant sexual references in the film which also helps to sell the film as that is what the American pie franchise is all about.

Again they have replaced the wedding cake with a pie to relate back to the movie title.

They have made the bonus features look similar to a wedding invitation as the film is about one of the friends getting married.
