A2 MEDIA IDEAS FOR BRIEF

BRIEF
For my initial idea, the brief that I have chosen to
work towards is a promotion package for the release
of an album along with a cover for its release (CD
Cover), and a magazine advertisement.
INITIAL IDEA
My initial idea is to create a Music video with a
narrative as I think this would be manageable to do
rather than trying to have the actors miming to a song as
this could result in my video looking out of time/sync.
However I do like the idea of filming the actor playing
live for example filming them play then editing the real
track over the top, as shown in the examples in my
inspirational texts.

INSTITUTIONS I think the appropriate institution to produce my music video would be Island Records;
I have chosen Island Records as they have produced Florence and the Machine, Bombay
Bicycle Club and Ben Howard's music videos and these artists are of the same genre my
music video is going to be. Island Records may seem to be an independent institution,
however it is a subsidiary company which means they are now joint with the Universal
Music Group.
TARGET AUDIENCE
My target audience for my music video would be
16-30 years, and for people who like that specific
music genre. That genre being Soft Rock/Folk. As it
is a slow meaningful song, I would expect it to be
listened by mature audiences, as I don’t think it
would nessecerialy appeal to younger audiences as I
don’t think a slow song would appeal to them.
