    Notes:

ENGINE STARTING closure signal is given by ENGINE START rotary selector and/or by

A FAULTlight comes on amberwhen the valve position is in disagreement.

    PACK OVERHEAT

There is a fuseand a thermostatat the compressor outlet and at the turbine Inlet.

Pack flow control valve closes In the event of pack overheat.

    Notes:

If fuse has melted, the flow control valve remains closed.

If thermostat, the valve regulates again when the overheat condition disappears.

    RAM Air Door

When RAM AIRpushbutton is switched ONit Illuminates .WHITEand there is no

Ditching, a full open signal is sent to the Emergency Ram Airactuator and to the

    Outflowvalves.

The OPENgreen light Illuminates when the flap is fully opened.

Note: The emergency ram air will close also In case of ditching

Note: The A/C cannot be dispatched with the emergency ram air Inlet Inoperative.

    Temperature Control

When the temperature reaches 88oCIn one of the cabin or cargo ducts:

    1. The OVHTlight illuminates

    2. The ECAM activation.

    3. The hot air supply valve closes.

    HI PRESS

A hot air pressure switch, is located downstream of the hot air supply valve.

When pressure is higher than 12.5 psi above cabin pressure, the hot airsupply stores Fault after a delay of 3seconds.

The panel is located on the rear panel. The light will illuminate when called on ground.

    Temperature Control

and are controlled by the coldesttemperature demand.

There are 4zones (Flight deck, FWDcabin, MIDcabin, AFTcabin) which can be

controlled independently, from the COMPARTMENT TEMPERATURE panel,

    automatically or manually.

The pack outlet temperature can range from -7oCto +63oC,MAXcool selected The pack outlet temperature can range from +4oCto +63oC, MAXcool OFFIn the event of smoke detection:

    1. The appropriate Indicator on the "CARGO COMPARTMENT SMOKEDETECTION" panel illuminates and in addition.

    2. A closure signal is sent to:a. The trim air valveb. The fanc. The isolation valve.

Note: The ISOLATION VALVE pushbutton has to be reset to restore the system

    normal operation after smoke cancellation.

    Controllers

There are 4zone controllers, 2 pack temperature controllers and 1APU and PACKDEMAND controller located on the 90VU.

The APUand PACK DEMAND CONTROLLERhave a BITE TEST which allows checking

the controllers Involved In the temperature regulation as well as the sensors.

Sensors Involved In the temperature cabin regulation. (2Zones + 3Ducts)

    3. Overheat protection:

    a. Ducttemperature sensors.Note: When the rotary selector is not In CRT position, on the ECAM the Indications

    are replaced byXX.

In order to avoid poss ible pack overheat at the beginning of pack temperature

regulation, the temperature demand signal between APUand PACK DEMAND

"CONTROLLER" and PACK"CONTROLLER" Is cut off for 3 minutesafter packvalve

    has started to Open.

    CARGO COMPARTMENTS

    The system Includes:

    1. A trim air valve.

    2. A zone temperature sensor.

    3. A duct temperature sensor.

    4. A bulk cargo temperature controller.

Note: Cargo temperature regulation system is not connected to pack temperature

    regulation system.

With the MANUALmode selector at MAN and hold at HOT, the controller actionis by-passed. The selector acts directly on the trim air valve (here as HOT has

been selected, the trim air valve opens).

The air is extracted by an electric fan then after passing through an Isolationvalve; the air is exhausted under the compartment itself, and heats the

    compartment floor.

The fan and the Isolation valve are controlled by a pushbutton located on theCOMPARTMENT TIMPERATURE panel.

Note: the fan only operates if the isolation valve is fully open.

There are four kinds of warning:

Warnings due to an Isolation valve disagreement. Warnings due to the fan failure. Warnings due to a duct over-temperature 90OC.

Warnings due to a cargo smoke detection.

    VENTILATION

3 cabin fans controlled from the overhead panel are installed to recirculate air when

    required + double stage filters.

When the CABIN FANS pushbutton is pressed in and with the packs in the normal

mode, approximately 40 % of the air existing in the outlets is recalculated by electric

    fans.

    WARNINGS

A fan overheats of 90oCcauses the cut-off of the corresponding fan power supply,

and the white Illuminationof the corresponding MFA on the lateral panel.

    LAVATORIES & GALLEYS

Are equipped with automatic ventilation system air is tapped from the cabin

distribution duct then it is extracted either by:

    1. A fan operation (P < 1psi)

    2. Peffect (Flight and P > 1 psi).
