Mazel-Tov Jacob.
Round 5 Team Results & Match Reports
U9 Comets: Ajax 4.4 (28) d South Melbourne Red 2.1 (13) Goals: Chrapot, Pike, C. Sheezel, Tadmore Best: Eliau, Graham, Joseph, Krongold, Poratt, H Sheezel Match Report The Ajax Comets overcame the windy conditions and large oval at Albert Park with another hard fought win. The young Jackers combined well and worked hard in the conditions showing great determination. U9 Jets: Ajax 5.5 (35) d East Malvern 3.7 (25) Goals: Faigen 2, Wasbutzki 2, Gering Best: Faigen, Grunfeld, Marabel-Whitburn, J Stein, Wasbutzki, Zielinski Match Report U9 Jets achieved back-to-back victories with a hard fought win and the first time at home which was great and enjoyed singing the club song in our rooms. Led by captains Feder and Goldfarb conditions proved to be extremely windy with the Jets only scoring in the first and third quarters when kicking with the wind and managing to hold on in the 4
th
quarter to win by 10 points. Faigen and Wasbutzski both scored twice and had a lot of the football. Another great team effort and showing further improvement every week. Go Jets! U9 Stars: Ashwood 6.13 (48) d Ajax 4.4 (28) Goals: Mooseek, Rose, Shuster, Star Best: Chalfon, Gutmann, Kaye, Rose, Shuster, Star Match Report Having moved up a grade and playing a team that were currently undefeated, the under 9 Stars lead by their captains Ryan Borowitz and Josh Kallenbach, showed fighting spirit from start to finish. Kicking into the strong wind in the first qtr, Ajax played possession footy to the best of their ability and only found themselves just over a goal down. With the wind at their backs, the Stars followed team rule of run, carry and kick long, and as a result went in at half time one point behind. It was all about defense in the third quarter and the backline held firm, manned up at all costs and put themselves in a winning position by going into the last quarter only 7 points adrift of the opposition.
Edition 6 Weekly Wrap 2013 – Round 5 U9 Stars Match report (continued) The big ground took its toll on the stars in the final quarter, and even though we kicked 2 goals, we suffered our first defeat of the season going down by just over 3 goals. Good learning experience for the team on how numbers at the fall of the footy gives us the best opportunity to gain possession. Some of the boys had their best game, which was pleasing, and the opposition had to fight to the end to shake off the determined stars. The learning continues and we look forward to bringing our best efforts again when playing at home next week. U10 Comets: Ajax 7.5 (47) d St Peters West 5.4 (34) Goals: Jacobs 3, Kavallero 2, Briskin, Lowe. Best: Jacobs, Kavallero, Marton, Mond, Nissen, Shostak Match Report In a game that warmed every mum's heart, the boys played one of their best games as a team against St Peter's on a windy morning. The boys put in a real 4 quarter effort by being first at the ball and defending at all costs. With the game in the balance at half time the boys steeled themselves for a big last quarter effort by restricting the home team against the wind. In the last quarter the team really fought hard to hit the scoreboard and played out the game right to the finish. Josh Rotstein was a welcome inclusion after watching from the sidelines for many weeks and Brad also kicked his first goal after so many match winning games in the back line. U10 Jets: Ajax 13.5 (83) d Port Melbourne Colts 3.1 (19) Goals: Landau 3, Rajch 2, Antman, Bardos, Efron, Kanat, Katz, Kras, Maisner, Rudski. Best: Bardas, Efron, Kanat, Mattatia, Rajch, Zielinski Match Report Today was the most complete effort we have seen from the boys all season. From the opening bounce all the things we asked from the team were delivered - there was intensity at the football, energy, and an all round positive attitude.Kicking with the wind in the first quarter the boys did everything they were asked to do - they ran hard and kicked long resulting in a 6 goals to nothing first quarter. The 2nd quarter was probably the best we have played all year - going into a very strong wind the boys played a fantastic defensive game restricting the number of chances the opposition had to score - not only did the boys restrict the scoring, they also managed to kick a couple against the wind. An all round great effort. U11 Comets: Ajax 11.8 (74) d Mt Waverley 5.3 (33) Goals: Cohen E 4, Deane 2, Zayontz 2, Gross, King, Zuker Best: Berman, Cohen E, Davis, Deane, Freeman, Gold Match Report The AJAX U11 Comet boys have played yet another sensational, tough game. This week, the opposition was tough and had plenty of big, fast players; yet the Comets gradually wore them down with sensational football, spreading well and tackling hard. They played four hard quarters, overcoming a slow start but ultimately leading in the first break despite kicking into a strong breeze. They never lost the lead again. They showed great sportsmanship at the end of the game which made us all proud of them.
Edition 6 Weekly Wrap 2013 – Round 5
U11 Jets: Ajax 10.6 (66) d Ormond West 3.6 (24) Goals: Bursztyn 2, Fibishenko 2, Sheezel 2, H Carp, Immerman, Lenga, Weeden Best: Fibishenko, Immerman, Lenga, Loven, Sheezel, Waislitz Match Report The Jets had their best four quarters of the season, which translated into their biggest win against Ormond at home. All year the coaches have been stressing the importance of every player making a contribution and today we had a very even performance, with all players doing their part for the team. It was really pleasing to see some of our lessor lights popping up to make some crucial plays throughout the game. The win sets the Jets up at 3 wins and 2 losses and in a strong position for the balance of the season – well done Jets! U12 Comets: Dingley Black 9.9 (63) d Ajax 3.2 (20) Goals: Hudson 2, Lipton 1 Best: Levine, Harris, Kessell, Krongold, Aizenstros, Zukerman Match Report Unfortunately couldn’t pull off a win for the mums. The boys tried valiantly but were beaten by a strong and well drilled Dingley side. In our first game for recording effective stats, Hoody had a match high 10 effective possessions as well as 2 last quarter goals in a best on ground performance. This is an area of our game that everyone needs to work on if we are to improve. Too many players are turning up not switched on and this is hurting us in games that we should be competitive. No training this week for Shavuot. U12 Jets: Ajax 7.3 (45) d East Bentleigh 5.13 (43) Goals: Jacobs 5, Klein, Pincus Best: Baruch, Elbaum, Garson, Jacobs, Klein, Page Match Report Round 5 was played on a dustbowl, with our boys starting the game by kicking with a 4-5 goal breeze – which they duly used. We went into quarter time with a 31-point lead, and sat back as the opposition chipped away for the rest of the game, slowly eating away at our lead, but never managing to get in front. The last 2 minutes saw our boys play desperate, defensive footy and with a Joshua Pincus bomb out of defence in the dying seconds, the boys held on to win an exciting game by 2 points. Special mentions to Liam ‘Birthday Boy’ Elbaum (8 hard ball gets) and Sammy ‘Sticks’ Jacobs (5 goals), who both played fantastic games. Our defence was solid all day, especially thanks to Brett ‘The Enforcer’ Garson (17 tackles) and Vinnie ‘Nothing Gets Past Me Today’ Page (12 spoils). Baruch, Franks and Cowan also played their best games for the club today, while Klein registered his first ever goal for the club. A happy day for the boys and for all the mothers who came along – Happy Mother’s Day to you all!!
Edition 6 Weekly Wrap 2013 – Round 5
U12 Stars: Ajax 10.11 (71) d St Peters 3.3 (21) Goals: Chrapot 4, Freedman 2, Wise 2, Micmacher N 1, Winik 1 Best: Freedman, Micmacher J, Pacanowski, Samuels, Winik, Yaffe Match Report Taking full advantage of gusty conditions, Chrapot (last week’s Golden Boot) took full control and was unstoppable in the 1st qtr, scoring 4 goals with ease. Freedman backed him up with 2 confident goals, putting the Stars in a commanding position of 42 to nil at the end of Q1. Scoring in the 2nd and 3rd qtr’s slowed down as the Stars caught their breaths and our opponents stepped up and increased the pressure. The 4th quarter saw the Stars score 2 goals despite playing against the jetstream, for a convincing 50 point win. Winik and Yaffe were spectacular in the midfield. Nadelman stepped up and gave a strong account of himself in the 4th qtr and Samuels impressed the coaches with his gritty defence. Arndt Snr ably commanded the halftime refreshment post. Special thanks to those mums and a bubba who came to support the Star’s on Mother’s Day. U13 Jets: Ajax 15.14 (104) d St Bedes/Mentone 0.2 (2)
Goals: Braverman 4, Webb 3, Aisen 2, Ayzelman 2, Davis, Kupshik, Michelson, Zeimer. Best: Aisen, Ayzelman, Davis, Kupshik, Michelson, Webb Match Report The fat lady has been warming up for 4 weeks, and today she sang load and proud. A great team performance and a great first victory for the season. Our guest stars Riley Michelson and Noah Webb led the way, and lifted the team performance to the highest level seen this season so far. The overall intensity at the ball and in defense, and urgency in attack, should set the scene for improved performances. A lazy 4 goals by Gabe Braverman and 3 by Noah Webb set us up for the big win we achieved. Well done Jets, and keep up the effort next week. U13 Comets: Had a BYE this week. Goals: N/A Best: N/A Match Report N/A. U14 Comets: St Kilda City 13.5 (83) d Ajax 9.13 (67) Goals: Meltzer 6, Spilkin 1, Syber 1, Teperman Best: Bassat, Jankelowitz, Meltzer, Opat, Spilkin, Teperman Match Report Beaten by St Kilda City who we beat a few weeks ago. They came out blazing with a strong breeze in the first quarter kicking 5 goals to 1. They maintained a good lead at half time and things were looking down. We played a brilliant third quarter out scoring them into the wind. All was set for a great last quarter. We clawed back to five points but Lachie Harris was amazing for the opposition. A good effort today but just not good enough. Special mention to Jordy Meltzer for his 6.4 today.
Edition 6 Weekly Wrap 2013 – Round 5
U15 Girls (Jackettes): Had a BYE this week. Goals: N/A Best: N/A Match Report N/A U15 Jets: Ajax 14.9 (93) d South Melbourne 4.4 (28) Goals: Shalev 4, Carp 2, Cohen.J 2, Krakauer 2, Davis, Kleytman, Nissenbaum, Wise Best: Benge, Cohen.R, Krakauer, Paltiel, Shalev, Wise Match Report The under 15 Jets ran rampant against a gallant South Melbourne outfit. It was a great result with all players contributing and emphasising a team game! Ashley Krakauer was brilliant though the midfield and down in defence. Tom Shalev was the focal point up forward kicking 4 quality goals including a blinder from the boundary line! A great result and give plenty of momentum heading into another meeting with St Peters FC next weekend. U15 Comets: Ajax 18.21 (129) d Mordialloc Braeside 7.2 (44) Goals: Klooger 9, Nadleman 5, Cohen 2, Belnick, Takac Best: Cohen, Hymans, Klooger, Lebowitz, Nadleman, Tacak Match Report A great performance by a team that is playing well together. U16: Ajax 11.10 (76) d Beaumaris 6.9 (45) Goals: Ash 2, Lipton 2, Baron, Fisher, Kagan, Kingston, Levy, Paluch, Teleshevsky Best: Ash, Baron, Fisher, Levy, New, Shatter Match Report Terrific win in our first game in Division 2. The team was challenged in the 2nd quarter but finished off strongly in the 4th quarter against a top Division 2 side. Great team effort across the ground. U17: Waverley Park / Northvale 9.14 (68) d Ajax 7.7 (49) Goals: Stock 2, Havin, Herszberg, Klein, Krakauer, Shapiro Best: Burston, Herszberg, Paltiel, Stock, Velleman, Zeilinski Match Report None reported.

Tisher Liner FC Law “Legal Tip of the Week”
In season 2013 the Wrap will cover a NEW Legal Tip that EVERYONE should read. It will
be provided by , one of the club’s sponsors.
This week’s LEGAL TIP OF THE WEEK is:
Purchasing a Business? There are plenty of legal considerations involved when you are purchasing a business. You need to determine the structure of the purchasing entity- will you operate as a sole trader, via trust or as a trading company? After you have negotiated terms of sale with the vendor (including price, settlement date etc.) you also need to consider various other issues including but not limited to:
Finance- will you require finance for the purchase? If so, the contract should be subject to finance.
Transfer of Lease- if the business premises are occupied pursuant to a lease, the landlord’s consent will need to be obtained for the lease to be transferred to the purchasing entity.
Stock- if the business operates with trading stock, will the purchaser buy some or all of the stock, how will it be valued, what about unsaleable stock etc.?
Employees- details of employees who will continue to be employed by the purchaser will need to be obtained including rates of pay, sick and annual leave entitlements, long service leave (if applicable) and the like. Normally these entitlements continue to accrue are adjusted between the vendor and the purchaser.
Vendor’s assistance period- will the vendor assist the purchaser in relation to the business, including introducing the purchaser to suppliers, customers and the like? Will the vendor remain involved in assisting the purchaser after completion of the purchase?
Restraint of trade- the purchase price often includes a component for goodwill. You don’t want the vendor to open up a similar or competing business next door. Ordinarily the vendor should therefore be restrained from trading in the same or similar type of business for a period of time, e.g. 2 years, and with a radial distance of the business premises, e.g. 20 km.
Transfer of Licences- are there any licences associated with the running of the business, e.g. Liquor Licence ? Any relevant licences will need to be transferred to the purchaser as part of the transaction.
The above are only some of the considerations which need to be addressed in a purchase of business. Direct negotiations with a vendor will only go so far. You need to have specific protection in a Contract of Sale of Business. Your solicitor will assist with all of the legal elements involved in drafting, negotiating and seeing the matter through to settlement. Please contact Ron Cohen of Tisher Liner FC Law to discuss any of your legal needs. Tisher Liner FC LAW is a highly respected law firm based in the heart of Melbourne’s legal precinct. Jackas defeat
Bloods by 38 points by Joel Benjamin
The AJAX Football Club has
maintained its position at second
on the Premier B ladder with a 38-
point win over Old Haileybury at
Princess Park on the weekend.
AJAX returned to the home of its
Juniors as the away team, after Old
Haileybury were granted a
permanent lease to move to
Princess Park from McKinnon
Reserve. AJAX handled the
disappointment of not being
considered for tenancy in the best
way it could, by attracting hundreds
of supporters to the ground and by
winning the match.
The highlight of the game was
certainly the finishing skills of
David Fayman, who
AJAX FC Club Sponsor teskacarson
slotted 11 goals for the day,
including 5 in the first quarter. It
was Ezra Poyas who sparked
AJAX's momentum with a
booming goal on the run in the
early minutes of the match. The
Jackas appeared focused and
confident, refusing to let Old
Haileybury's physicality
influence the outcome of the
match. AJAX's forward pressure
was superb and by quarter time
the away side had managed a
38-point lead.
The second quarter was not as
free flowing as Old Haileybury
clamped down on AJAX's
playmakers and slowed the
game down. A hard tag on
Eugene Routman reduced his
output but skipper Marcus
Jankie took charge and won
plenty of contested
possessions. Despite one fast
play starting with Jason
Ritterman in defence and
finishing with another Fayman
goal, the Jackas were forced
to grind out their goals but
did so effectively through
Poyas, Corey Jankie, Jake
Lew and Nick Marks. AJAX
only conceded one goal for
the quarter and went into the
main break 61 points ahead.
The third quarter was a tighter
contest. After making fewer
tackles in each of the first two
quarters, Old Haileybury
stepped up their pressure and
made the same amount of
tackles as AJAX in the third
term. Although Old
Haileybury seemed to have
more of the play, the clean
skills of Rubin Winograd and
Josh Sacks in linking with
Jason

PRATT FOUNDATION
Tendler, Richie Simon and
Matthew Nissen created a
further lead of 76 points at the
final break. With the win
secured, the Jackas
unfortunately dropped their
intensity in the last quarter,
conceding 6 goals and
kicking no goals themselves.
Despite the disappointing last
quarter, AJAX walked away
with a fantastic win against a
side that had only lost one
game for the year.
The Reserves side also had
a big win over Old
Haileybury, extending their
lead every quarter to finish
90 points in front. A six goal
to none opening quarter set
the tone for the day as a
strong AJAX side dominated
the midfield through the
class of Nadav Hare!, Noah
Rischin and Ashley Kalb.
Ben Michowski, Brad
Caplan, Alex Wollan, Ryan
White, Yannai Lang and Geoff
Measey all kicked two goals
in an even team performance.
The Thirds had to forfeit
their match due to lack
of players.
Under 19's
The U19's were up against top-of-
the-ladder Nthn Blues and could
very promptly see why their
opposition occupied the top spot.
Before the Jackas could settle, the
Nthn Blues had put on 5 quick goals
with their running on-ballers hunting
the ball en masse and moving
forward efficiently and accurately.
The wind aiding the onslaught, the
first quarter finished with an 8 goal
to 1 advantage. Settling in to their
best game in the 2nd
quarter, Ajax
was able to whittle away the lead
with goals from Kalmus, Goldberg
and Schwartz in the
forward line getting to within 3 goals
of the opposition. Unfortunately the
second half saw the same pattern,
but the Nthn Blues were quicker,
more efficient always appearing to
have multiple players ready to tackle
and move the ball forward to goal.
The 3-quarter time deficit was a gap
too far; the Jackas won the last
quarter but still fell nearly 10 goals
short.

AJAX Player
Education As part of our club's player
education we were delighted
to have 1990 Collingwood
Premiership player Gavin
Crosisca speak to the
players on last Tuesday
after training.
Gavin spoke of the issues he faced whilst he played AFL football with drugs and alcohol and how he managed to turn his life around completely.
We really appreciated Gavin
taking the time to come to AJAX and share his experiences with our young players.
