AACC – BI Tools Upgrade Presentation Project Goals

The primary goal of the BI Tools Upgrade project is to replace Brio Query with a new Web enabled BI toolset by no later than December 31, 2008.

Secondary goals:– Establish strategy, funding and capability for ongoing

ITS support for Business Intelligence– Establish strategy and plan for rolling out and supporting additional Business Intelligence analytics capability such as dashboards

Primary Objective

Implement the Oracle Answers, Oracle Delivers (scheduling only) and Oracle BI Publisher components of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) for ALL users of the Windows Terminal Services (WTS) hosted Brio Query tool.

Additional objectives are:

– Convert all Brio Query repository queries to equivalent Oracle Answers “request” queries.

– Establish end user support capability to insure successful implementation and ongoing use

– Provide tool training to all users.– Integrate the OBIEE application with the existing environment

• Authentication - CAS/LDAP

• Data Warehouse

– Develop pilot Finance dashboards

AACC – BI Tools Upgrade Presentation Project Scope

1. Acquisition of OBIEE Software.

2. Engagement of qualified OBIEE consultants to assist with project planning, infrastructure design, configuration and tuning, development of best practices for administration and support of this BI toolset, knowledge transfer on all aspects of OBIEE and BI Publisher, and any necessary ETL consultant assistance to support the new dimensional data models.

3. Design, implementation and configuration of hardware/software infrastructure to support DEVL, TEST and PROD environments.

4. Development and implementation of security infrastructure addressing account provisioning, authentication, authorization and encryption.

5. Design, development and implementation of dimensional data models for selected subject areas.

6. Development of OBIEE Metadata Repository reflecting current data warehouse content and new dimensional data models with appropriate drill down and measures aggregation.

7. Conversion of Brio Query repository queries to equivalent Oracle Answers “request” queries.

8. Design, development and pilot implementation of Finance dashboards.

9. Training of technical and functional support staff

10. Training of End Users on how to use Oracle Answers, Oracle Delivers and Oracle Interactive Dashboards

11. Development and implementation of End User support documentation including Frequently Asked Questions with an associated searchable Knowlegebase

12. Development and implementation of best practices for ongoing support and administration of these products

13. End User documentation on content and use of reporting tables (metadata).
