PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN:There are basically 6 types of elements which we use to create to design such as-

    BALANCEPROPORTION

    RHYTHM

    SCALE

    FOCUS

    HARMONY

    HARMONY:

In order to achieve harmony, all the varied components of an interior space must

relate to each other and to the overall theme of the design. When all the elements in

the interior (from style of furniture to the colour scheme) work together, a unified

    whole is achieved.

Harmony is achieved through use of color, texture, material, style, size,

    shape in interior design.

    PRINCIPLE OFHARMONY:

Principle of harmony involves the careful selection of elements that share commoncharacteristics like shape, colour, size, texture, material. It is the repetition of work

    that produces harmony in interior.

a color scheme is used for visual harmony which

creates a sense of unity in elementsthrough the material we select for our design.

Unit of book case is repeated to

oversized and no color scheme is used whichcreates disharmony in space.

    HARMONY THROUGH MODULES:

Modules are units which are repeated in numbers to create a furniture or designrepetition of any thing creates harmony in space.

units of particular size are repeated for creating

living space and it produces visual harmony

in design. Each element is related to other.

    while designing a space,

    we must consider the material

which are going to use andstyle or theme which will

create a sense of unity and

    harmonious interior. a haphazard

    arrangement of similar things

leads to confusion whereasorganized space reflect harmony,

Modular kitchen is good example of

creating harmony in interior through modules

    and materials.

Standard size units are repeated to

complete modular kitchen design and use of

same material give a impression of visual

pleasing and soothing effect on user.

In comparison to traditional kitchens , the

modular kitchen concept gives the simplicity

in space and balance the proportion, size,

rhythm, color, texture. All elements relate to

each other and develop a systemized style

    through use of modules.

    HARMONY THROUGH MATERIAL/COLOR:

Harmonious color combinations are those which provide soothing effect when placedtogether. Warm and cool color combinations are natural harmonious theme which

combines the different furniture in arranged manner. Selected colors create a color

scheme and which in result create a pleasing environment in interior space.

contrasting color schemes like complementary, split, triad creates a visual harmony

    inside.

the arrangement of color gives harmonious look and keep the elements combinedtogether.

combinations of 2 or 3 colors are repeated through different material in systematic

    manner.

The concept of space, as put forthby Jacob VanUexkiill, goes thus:

'Like the spider with its web, so

    every subject weaves relationships

    between itself and particular

    properties of objects; the many

    strands are then woven together

and finally form the basis of the

    subject's very existence.

The dynamics of colours and textures are especially sensitive to illumination.

Imagine a world without sunlight or even without artificial lighting, for thatmatter. All colours, all textures and all forms respond instinctively to the light

that falls upon them. The direction of light, as well as its quality and intensity

determine our ultimate perception of a form - whether it's a painting, a sculpture,

the human face or a massive building all goes with harmony of a space.

Most people wrongly assume that harmony is the only true goal of colour

combination; though most artists and designers nowadays believe that too much

harmony can be boring, limiting the pleasure-giving and expressive range of

colours. Besides, there are a few instances where colours settle down together and

co-ordinate with ease. The simplest kind of harmony is that which occurs when

three colours from the wheel, the middle one being a primary, are placed together,

    pure and unaltered.
