    Quality Assurance

    AAEON's Quality Assurance Closed Loop Feedback System consists of three stages: Design Quality Assurance (DQA), Manufacturing Quality Assurance (MQA) and Service Quality Assurance (SQA). This system provides solid and constant feedback through the design, manufacturing and service stages to ensure continuous progress on quality improvement to meet customer expectations.

    DQA Design Quality Assurance starts at the conceptual stage of a project and covers the

    product development stage to ensure quality is designed in by highly qualified

    engineers. AAEON's safety and environmental test labs ensure our products meet the

    requirements of CE/UL/FCC/CCC standards. All AAEON products go through an

    extensive and comprehensive test plan for compatibility, function, performance and

    MQA Manufacturing Quality Assurance is carried out according to TL9000 (ISO-9001),

    ISO13485 & ISO-14001 certification standards. All AAEON products are built using

    production and quality testing equipment in a static-free environment. Additionally,

    these products have gone through rigorous tests in the production line and dynamic

    aging in the burn-in room. AAEON's Total Quality Control (TQC) program includes: Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control

    AAEON Wide Temperature Board SeriesAAEON has developed a strategy for wide-temperature computer boards to answer the needs of the market.

    AAEON can provide products that comply with two wide temperature standards: WiTAS I and WiTAS II.

    WiTAS I products are designed to operate within the temperature range of -20C to 70C. WiTAS II products

    are designed to operate within the temperature range of -40C to 80C. Applicable labeling will be applied to

    each product after approval is obtained following critical testing performed by AAEONs Quality Engineering

    Department.

    Compact Boards 8 x 5.75 compact-sized computer boards apply advanced embedded technology providing stable and solid

    computing engines for factory automation, KIOSK and POS (Point of Sale) markets.

    EPIC ModulesThe EPIC form factor embedded single board computer is designed to fulfill the increasing demands of high

    performance and flexible expansions. The size of the EPIC board (4.53 x 6.50) is between 5.25 (Compact

    or EBX) CPU boards and 3.5 (SubCompact or ECX) CPU boards and is a great solution to fit into space-

    limited applications because of the stackable I/O expansions. EPIC also allows for features such as low

    power consumption and PC/104+ slots to satisfy varying customer requirements.

    SubCompact Boards AAEONs expertise in space constrained design helped to create these small yet powerful computer boards.

    At just 5.75 x 4, AAEON SubCompact boards are uniquely suited for mobile and low-power devices.

    Embedded Motherboards AAEON's Embedded Motherboard line focuses on the most popular: Mini-ITX. This form factor has achieved

    Naming RuleNaming Rule for Board Level Products & Turn-Key Solutions (EmBox)/ RTC

    1. Naming Rule for Board Level ProductPrefix code Model code [plus WITAS configuration code]- Revision code [Configuration code or Customer code]

    For the definition of each code, they are described in the sections below. However, the following fields are optional codes for special purposes,

    Plus WITAS configuration code: If it exists, eithers W1 or W2 will be the code W1 for -20C to +70C board operating temperature.

    W2 for -40C to +80C board operating temperature.

    Configuration code: May be used to specify a different BOM for varying functions or a different CPU on the board. Normally, it is a two digit numeric code, if specified.

    Customer code: If a customer wants to adopt different components, BIOS, or processors populated on the board, product must be identified with the code. Normally, it is one alphabet plus a three digit numeric code, if specified.

    Remark: Only one Configuration code and Customer code may exist and the field is optional.

    2. CPU Board There are two kinds of naming rules for CPU boards. One is an old naming rule for products created long ago and the other is the new naming rule, which is for new and future products.
