1. Easily recyclable laptop Aalto University students have developed a recyclable laptop computer together with Stanford University students on a joint ME310 product development course.

2. Aalto-1 satellite Students at Aalto University are building Finland’s first satellite. Aalto-1 is expected to be launched into space in 2013 and the plan is that most of the design, construction and testing of the device will be carried out by students.

1. Aalto University students designed a new appearance for Blue1 aircrafts Aalto University students of graphic design came up with a new physical appearance and concept for the planes during their course on corporate identity design.

Delivery Methods

• Delivery methods are based on

appropriateness. In the CE programs

various methods are used, e.g.:

• blended learning, eLearning,

• face to face training,

• case studies,

• collaborative learning,

• work-based development projects.

• The leading principle is to achieve the

learning outcomes

with the most appropriate methods.

International Design Business Management for Professionals The IDBM Pro course aims to train skilled professionals for key roles in

global design business. The program emphasizes the importance of design

as a competitive factor, linked with state-of-the-art technology and business

models.

The reform of Adult Education starting 2007

- representatives from ministries, national labour market organizations, HEIs

- one key issue was strenghtening learning in working life

-> longer specialization programmes, 30-60 ECTS suitable for professional development. Targeting the needs
