A Quarterly Publication of Aardwolf Pestkare (S) Pte LtdMCI (P) 005/04/2017

Like they say, time really flies when you are having fun.

This is clearly the case with Aardwolf Pestkare. To celebrate the 20th Anniversary, some 127 “Pioneer Clients”, who have been serviced by the company staff since its incorporation in 1997, will be specially honoured when company staff visit them with gifts.

As for the company staff, they will celebrate by sailing the high seas for 2 nights on “Superstar Germini” with Star Cruise during the Labour Day weekend.

Group Managing Director John Ho said that this is a small way of thanking both Clients and staff. “It is only with their support that we are where we are.”

Today the Aardwolf Pestkare team in Singapore services more than 3,000 Clients, with a turnover in excess of $10 million. In 2001 it expanded into Indonesia and today its President Director Agustinus Kurniawan

operates successfully in Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya. In 2013 the company ventured into Shanghai, China, jointly with Chairman Phil Xiao and Managing Director Rosalind Yang.

Singapore’s Managing Director Patrick Chong believes that understanding what the clients need, coupled with a caring man-management, are the key ingredients to the company’s success. “Take the case of computerisation. Every technician is equipped with a tablet and a portable printer. With WiFi, he is able to report his findings in real time to the office and to our Clients. This gives our chaps a sense of pride,” says a delighted Patrick.

In 2002 Aardwolf Pestkare, under an exclusive franchise arrangement with TermiCam Australia, is the first company outside Australia to use infra-red technology to accurately detect and treat termites effectively. “This is so much more reliable when compared to the traditional method of knocking on wood with the handle of a screwdriver”, explains David Rice, CEO based in Melbourne.

20 YEARS OLD!

“To accomplish these and many other advances, the company is thankful to the government for its subsidies and grants,” says Finance Director John Yeo.

The company believes in training. Every Thursday is “Touch Base Day”, when every member of the staff returns to the company for training and upgrading. But before anything, a buffet dinner is served.

“Getting rid of pests is no longer the challenge. Creating and sustaining a team of highly motivated and committed professionals is the real challenge,” declares Patrick Chong.

Upgrading in pest management covers not just the techniques in controlling pests, it also includes communication with our Clients.

To start the ball rolling, lecturer Divya Raman from English Explorer Language School was engaged to train the Supervisors in adding more punch to their correspondence.

English Language Classes

Congratulations to (from left) Muhd Faiz Ahmad, Ahmad Faizal Saini and Najib Mohamed for passing the latest ITE–NEA Exam in Pest Management. This makes them Licensed Technicians.

Said Faizal “It was a difficult exam and we had to study hard.”

For the records all our 56 service personnel are Licensed Technicians, accredited to National Environment Agency. We do not have any Certified Worker.

For example, take this complaint:

“During my visit to your restaurant last evening, the food didn’t taste the same as what I usually had over the years”,

was changed to:

“During my visit to your restaurant last evening I was disappointed to find that the quality of the food was not the same as what I had usually enjoyed over the years”.

Thank you Divya, this is powerful stuff.

“Not being conversant in Mandarin is no issue in Aardwolf Pestkare. We have lots of people ready to act as translator”, says a confident Nazree.

It took just 28 minutes for a full 20-foot Container consisting of 663 cartons of rodent Snap Traps and Monitoring Stations to be manually unloaded at Aardwolf Pestkare.

This is the message Technical Manager Dr Jerry Hu and Quality Analyst Wan Adlikamal Wan Adanan will be sending to intruding rats, using Eye Trak.

With the help of digital technology they will install a wireless mini-video camera that is activated when an intruding rat enters a building, anytime of the day. The activity is then recorded and a message is sent to the Aardwolf Pestkare Technician’s mobile phone. He will immediately attend to the incursion, which can be replayed for viewing.
