INTRODUCTIONAarti group which was incorporated in 1977 has taken rapid strides to emerge at one

of North India’s Leading Manufacture of Steel and Yarn with the annual turnover of

more than US$ 170 Million and workforce of over 2000 Personnel.

Aarti Steels Limited, located at Ludhiana (Punjab) has got a steel plant with capacity

of 1.25 Lakh tonnes per annum. They manufacture wide range of products in carbon,

Alloy, spring and Alloy springs steels confirming to national and international

standards. The installed capacity of wire drawing unit is 36000MT per annum

manufacture wire, like Tyre bead wire, spring wire, etc.

WIRE DRAWING:

Drawing is a metalworking process which uses

tensile forces to stretch wire. As the wire

is drawn (pulled), it stretches thinner, into a

desired shape and thickness.

RAW MATERIAL USED

• Size:-5.50mm – 8mm• Source:-TATA Steel ltd, Jindal Steel, Aarti Steel • Grade:- HCWR, SWRH, (51/55 - 81/85) • Heat no:-*TATA (5 digits) 47075, 47089

Pre-drawing:-It is defined as the process to draw the wire once before the patenting action by using the dies & drums. It also include inline pickling process

Pulley used for removing tension from wire

Wire is treated with acid H2SO4 for removal scales and rust after that it is coated with Borax to remove moisture and then after passing through a dry oven it is sent for pre drawing operation

Machine Used For Drawing Operation

Wire passes through a dies to reduce the diameter of wire

After drawing process wires are coiled so that they can easily move for packaging or for the next process if required.

Heat Treatment Of Wire

Furnace used for heat treatment of wire ,the fuel used in this furnace is propane gas

Wire is then passes through the Tank in which Led at some specific temperature is present so that it can cool down slowly. After led tank it passes from a sand tray to remove the led present on wire.

Rinsing is done to clean the wire

For removing impurities wire passes though acid tanks and then rinsed with water

Wire is then coated with Borax and Phosphate as per ordered by the buyer

Wire is dried in Dry oven

In the last step wire is sent to coilers where large coils of wires are made

Other product of AARTI STEEL is GI WIRESGI :It stands for Galvanized iron. It is a process by which a base metal is immersed in a molten zinc bath for its coating on base metal surface to prevent corrosion

PROCESS:

At the end product is sent to packaging department for packaging of wires
