The project manager should direct a firm set of instructions on using various equipment in the construction place and emphasize that all building equipment should only be used by workers who are trained to do it. Employers also must ensure that all equipment used in the job and in the scaffolding is fit for the purpose and that all equipment is in good working condition before use and properly maintained and when not in use. These are to protect and ensure that workers are provided with appropriate and sufficient protection from any injuries while doing the job.

Ablaza, Raisa Kathleen B. AR185/ T Ar. Ramon Padilla Bizares

Scaffolding is made as a temporary structure to be used by workers during the construction of a new

building or the repair of existing buildings. It allows workers to reach various heights that are out of reach from

ground or wouldnt be able to reach normally and as long as scaffoldings are built and used correctly it is a better

alternative to using other equipment like ladders. As what could be seen in the figure, scaffoldings are not only

threat to the construction workers themselves but also to the members of the public if scaffoldings are not

properly erected. Public could be at risk from injuries caused by scaffoldings like items falling from it, other

construction tools and building equipment. People are at risk for injury because of broken, collapsed, slippery,

loose and unstable scaffolding Injuries caused by accidents that involves scaffolding can vary from cuts by

unprotected sharp metal edges and improper connections to broken bones and worst is some fatalities.

With the spate of scaffolding accidents and injuries, some measures should be put to place to ensure the

safety of constructions workers and the public. The project manager should direct a firm set of instructions on

using various equipment in the construction place and emphasize that all building equipment should only be

used by workers who are trained to do it. Employers also must ensure that all equipment used in the job and in

the scaffolding is fit for the purpose and that all equipment is in good working condition before use and properly

maintained and when not in use. These are to protect and ensure that workers are provided with appropriate

and sufficient protection from any injuries while doing the job.
