The primary argument of abortion proponents has always been thatabortion must be legal so it will be safe. It is an argument that clearlystrikes a chord with some of the American people. Last year, Life Dynamics, Inc. , published the autopsy images of a

The website details the story of 18 year-old Marla Card a mone and herunborn child, both victims of legal abortion.

As the website explains, a medical counselor told the 18 year-old

pregnant woman that the prescription medication she had been takingwould cause her baby to be born with severe birth defects.

This counselor then began to push Marla to have an abortion. Whenshe refused, the pressure was increased until it became more than shecould resist.

At that point, an abortionist was brought in to kill her baby.

While he was at it, he also killed Marla.

Marla died before her son was taken out of her body. His grandmothernamed him Christopher Michael and requested that he be buried withhis mother. She was informed that his body had already been thrownout as medical waste.

When Marla was killed having an abortion, her mother, Deborah,vowed that she would never let her daughter be forgotten. Sheapproached Crutcher and asked him to help her show the public therisks women face when they submit to abortions.

Deborah said that when Marla died the funeral director asked if theyshould close the casket. Deborah responded that she wanted the casket

open so people could see what abortion did to her daughter. Thisresponse is similar to what Emmett Till s mom did after her 16 year-oldblack son was brutally killed because of his color. She refused to hidewhat was done to her son and had an open casket funeral.

Crutcher says that producing the website was very difficult, I don twant anyone to think that this was comfortable for us. But there comesa point when we have to decide, are we going to stop this, or are wegoing to just talk about it? We need to hold this in front of the

When 24-year-old Tonya Reaves climbed onto a table at a PlannedParenthood facility in Chicago for a safe and legal abortion she neverknew she would be closing her eyes for the final time. What is nowknown is that the Planned Parenthood abortionist ripped a hole in Ms.Reaves uterus and she began to hemorrhage. It is also known that thePlanned Parenthood staff let Tonya lie there for over five hours beforethey sought emergency care for her. Of course, by then it was too late.She had lost approximately 30 percent of her body s total bloodvolume, before she died. Her family is now suing Planned Parenthood.

Although Pennsylvania s abortion regulations,require abortion providers to have functional resuscitation equipmentand drugs ready for use, convicted abortionist Kermit Gosnell had nosuch provisions. The clinic s one defibrillator, the device used to helprevive cardiac arrest patients, had not worked for years. There was only

the one Gosnell used for the abortion procedures and no equipment to assist with breathing. And on February 18, 2010,three months after Karnamaya Mongar had died of an overdose ofanesthesia, there was no crash cart with the drugs necessary toreverse the effects of just such overdoses. In 2010, the doctor who performed an abortionon Laura Hope Smith, admitted that his actions led to her death while

she was under his care.In addition to receiving a jail sentence for pleading guilty to the criminalcharge of involuntary manslaughter, abortionist Rapin Osathanondh,67, settled a civil suit and will pay $2 million to Smith s parents, Tomand Eileen Smith of Sandwich. Rapin has since been released fromprison.

On December 19, 1995, CarolinaGutierrez, a young Hispanic immigrant woman and mother of two,

went to the Maber Medical Center abortion clinic in Miami, Florida toundergo a Safe/Legal abortion. At the clinic, she was given a businesscard printed in Spanish -- and a sheet in English warning about possiblecomplications of the abortion, including infection. Neither Gutierrez norher husband reads English. When Carolina returned home thatafternoon, she was staggering and complaining of pain in her belly andchest. Fever set in. She called the clinic and someone hung up. Duringthe next two days, Gutierrez called the clinic at least twice more andleft messages on an answering machine but no one called back. ByDecember 21, Carolina was barely able to breathe and the family dialed911. At Jackson Memorial Hospital, doctors said Gutierrez was sufferingfrom blood infection so severe that she was in septic shock with aninfection that led to gangrene in her feet and fingers. Lawyers for thefamily said doctors told them that her uterus was perforated at leasttwice. Within days, doctors decided the threat of spreading gangrenewas greater than the risk of surgery and they made the difficult decisionto amputate both of Carolina s legs just below the knees to contain theinfection. Despite all of this, on February 5,1996, the 21-year-oldwoman died, according to an autopsy, of an infection "subsequent totermination of pregnancy." Lawyers for thefamily say that their law firm received numerous calls from women whohave developed complications following abortions performed at Maberor by its staff physician, Dr. Luis Marti. Their complaints mirror whathappened to Gutierrez. The principal difference is that they survived,and she didn't.

have transformed the argument that abortion is the brutal execution ofa living human being from a philosophy into an observable fact. Andtoday, even abortion advocates rarely bother to deny the humanity ofthe unborn. Instead, they continue to hammer away that abortion hasto be legal so it will be safe. Meanwhile, those of us in the pro-lifemovement point out that women are often severely injured or killed inthese "safe and legal" abortions. The problem is that we've never hadimages to illustrate the unimaginable brutality and ugliness of these

deaths. When people hear about women dying from abortion the imagethat comes to their minds is of scripted funerals with soft music playingin the background and the deceased lying peacefully "asleep" in a

polished coffin. Because of that sanitized image of death, the public hasno idea what it actually looks like when a young woman walks into anabortion clinic and ends up lying on an autopsy table. For the last 41
