Hello Students!!!!I would like to welcome everyone to the Life Science course here at Keller High School. I have the wonderful privilege to be your teacher. My name is Mr. Drucker and right there on the left is a picture of me just incase you forget my face from class.

My educational backgroundI attended the University of Montana in Missoula and earned my undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology. After taking a year off and studying in Germany, I came went back to the same University and earned my masters in Curriculum and Instruction and along the way earned my teaching licensure.

Hobbies and Interests

I have many interests and hobbies and among them are cycling, playing and composing music, hiking, Germanic languages, soccer, reading, skateboarding, and more.

Biology

This year in biology we will be covering various themes. From the tiniest cell to the largest whale, we will be

exploring Earth’s wonderful and yet mysterious creatures, including ourselves. Genetics, reproductive cycle,

evolution, molecular functions, and more will be discussed and analyzed. Prepare yourself for a educational ride of

your life!

GOALS AS A TEACHER•Help Students Gain an appreciation of the diversity from species to species and within the same species, including humans•Make students more aware of the effects that society, culture, and politics have in science•Give students the knowledge and tools to make changes in society •To build a supportive community in the class involving all students•To relate biology to students’ individual experiences and lives

My Teaching Experience•Substitute Taught for Missoula County Public Schools for a year- taught from 3rd grade all the way up to high school•Volunteered in 8th grade earth science class in Moorhead, Minnesota- I worked as extra help for subject matter with students who were at high-risk•While studying in Germany I was used as a teacher to address science related matters to students from all around the world

Here is a link to the institute in Germany where I studied at. Click HERE

Biology, What For?My hope is that through biology everyone will come away with a better understanding of the world of life around them, not only in a western European sense, but also in a sense that validates and builds on each student’s individual culture and background. Through this appreciation we may better understand ourselves and the people we interact with everyday and the organisms we share this planet with.
