ABOUT MY PROJECT: LOADING AND UNLOADING BAY (AREA) .

1. Aim : Use of Simple machines to make our work easier.In my project weight/load is lifted from ground and placed into the trucks (loading) and weight is lifted from the truck and placed on ground (unloading) using simple machines.

2. Devices or components used : 1. Pulley 2. Winch 3. Rope with Hook and 4. Weight (load).

3. Simple Machines Used : Tool that makes our work easier by helping us overcome large force when we apply small force are called Simple machines.1. Pulley 2. Winch.

4. How each simple machine in my project works

Pulley: Wheel with grooved ring. Wheel rotates about a fixed axle (axle fixed to wall. In my project fixed pulley is used). The pulley changes the direction of force and makes work easier.

Winch: A winch is a mechanical device that is used to pull the load (wind up during clockwise direction) or lower the weight (unwind during anticlockwise direction) with the help of rope. The winch pulls the load (weight) with less force.

Direction of Force: The weight (load) act in the downward direction and force due to weight is acting downward. The winch rotates in clockwise direction by exerting an effort. The pulling force by winch acts in the direction of winch along the rope.

RESULT: The pulley and the winch (Simple Machines) make our work (lifting or lowering the weight) easier by helping us overcome large force (weight in my project).

Also, the combination of simple machines (pulley and winch) can form a complex machine.
