Every single day, IOM teams are moving people;whether for humanitarian evacuation, resettlement oranother pathway to admission. Movement staff tailormovement assistance to meet the needs of theindividual and the relevant stakeholders in thedeparture country and receiving community.

IOM’s centralized standard movement procedures arebased on extensive operational experience. In order tosafely transport millions of migrants, IOM relies on aninterconnected network of staff across the globethrough its offices, sub-offices and partners to addressmigrant vulnerability and protection needs at everystage of travel.

More refugees have benefitted from resettlement and humanitarian admission in European countries in 2018 than ever before. In the EEA, 26,852 persons were assisted with pre-departure and movement management support to 18 Member States. This represents 31% of the Organization’s global efforts.
