With more than 157,000 members, the American Dental Association (or ADA) is the largest dental association in the nation. Founded in 1859, it is also the oldest. The ADA’s mission is to promote the dental profession at the local, state, and national levels while simultaneously advancing the state of oral health care among the general public. The organization works toward these goals through endeavors such as the philanthropic ADA Foundation and the ADA Seal of Acceptance program.

As a specialist in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Ophir Alalouf is particularly interested in the ADA’s Give Kids a Smile program. Currently 10 years old, Give Kids a Smile is dedicated to improving oral health care among children in disadvantaged and low-income communities. Dr. Alalouf assists in this effort by providing treatment to children who would otherwise lack access to quality oral health care.
