BACKGROUND Hosted by the Telethon Kids Instute and seed funded by the Minderoo Foundaon, the Early Childhood Development and Learning Collaboraon, acvely responds to the need to accelerate the implementaon of praccal and relevant early childhood research outcomes to those who need it most throughout Australia. The Collaboraon is a hub driven to bring together the community, clinicians, educators, government and researchers to improve evidence-based service delivery that meets the needs of vulnerable children, families and communies. The Collaboraon is commied to disseminang evidence about what works best to support young children’s development. It will work closely with those who provide care for young children and their families and build their capacity to use research evidence that is authenc and relevant to their pracce. Where the evidence is weak or doesn’t exist, the Collaboraon will partner with others to undertake new research to determine what works, for whom and under what condions. The Collaboraon’s research outcomes will provide the evidence needed for quality policy and pracce by governments, service providers and the community. The Collaboraon is governed by an Advisory Council, independently chaired by Emeritus Professor of Educaon Bill Louden and managed at the Telethon Kids Instute by the inaugural director Professor Donna Cross. PRIORITIES The Collaboraon has priorised the following areas of focus: • Research evidence to address gaps in understanding what is needed for cohesive early childhood service delivery • The elements of success associated with best-pracce for integrated early childhood service delivery • New knowledge to inform and advocate for eﬀecve early childhood public policy and pracce • Improved research and pracce capacity in early childhood service delivery Importantly, the Collaboraon will be informed by the needs of the sector to ensure its outcomes support a whole of naon approach that opmises the development of all young children, especially those from vulnerable families. BACKGROUND Hosted by the Telethon Kids Institute and seed funded by the Minderoo Foundation, the Early Childhood Development and Learning Collaboration, actively responds to the need to accelerate the implementation of practical and relevant early childhood research outcomes to those who need it most throughout Australia.

The Collaboration is a hub driven to bring together the community, clinicians, educators, government and researchers to improve evidence-based service delivery that meets the needs of vulnerable children, families and communities.

The Collaboration is committed to disseminating evidence about what works best to support young children’s development. It will work closely with those who provide care for young children and their families and build their capacity to use research evidence that is authentic and relevant to their practice.
