ABOUT US
RoseWater Energy Group creates innovative and intelligent energy management systems for governments, utilities, industries and residential consumers. Focused on the mission to create the next generation of renewable smart grid systems leveraging the best battery storage technologies, RoseWater works with our clients to design, build, integrate and manage power system assets specific to their needs. The Residential Energy Management Hub is the first and only power management product to be featured within a micro-grid in the head office of a major utility company.
The next generation of energy is upon us, and RoseWater Energy will prepare you for it.
“The most complete intelligent residential energy solution on the market today”
The RoseWater Energy Hub is the first all-in-one residential and light commercial power solution integrating three capabilities into one platform to serve the complete electrical needs of an entire premises, in essence transforming the electrical system in place into a microgrid:
• Power conditioned output protects and enhances the performance of all home and office electronics. With power quality higher than utilities, sensitive audio and video systems as well as home networking components, home automation and lighting control systems will perform at their best and last longer.
• Uninterruptable Power Supply with zero transfer time, and a large amount of battery back up will safely and securely allow you to ride out power failures.
• Ready for renewables – users adopting the RoseWater Energy Hub for power quality and back-up reasons can “go solar” for relatively little additional cost, for greener living.
The RoseWater Energy Hub offers a seamless total system integration solution, using a dual inverter system with solar input, that blends power conditioning, backup, and renewable energy management into one pre-assembled, configured and integrated industrial-grade platform. With everything integrated, prewired and tested, the potential for installation and set-up problems is greatly reduced at the jobsite.

AC power flows in from
the grid and provides
power to the input of
the UPS Inverter and
the Inverter/Charger.
Rectified power flows
from the Inverter/
Charger to the Battery
Bus. Conditioned power
then flows through the
UPS Inverter to the
Critical Load Panel.
NORMAL/DEFAULT MODE
NORMAL/DEFAULT MODE WITH SOLAR INPUT
If the system is solar
enabled, then solar
energy would enter
the system through a
solar charge controller
that converts the
solar energy to a DC
voltage suitable for
the DC Bus. Power
flows into the DC
Bus and will assist in
charging the batteries
and provide power to
the DC Input of the
UPS Inverters.

GENERATOR MODE
In many installations,
there may be a generator
installed for extended
backup capability. If there is
a generator in the system,
the power flows as it
would in Normal Mode and
the system continues to
provide conditioned power
to sensitive critical loads.
There is a five minute delay
in charging the battery bus
after Generator start, this
delay allows the Inverter/
Charger to qualify power.

When running in Generator
Mode, the solar input may
become active. In this case
the operation is the same as
Normal Mode, except the
system will not be able to
dispatch solar energy to the
main panel, as this could
cause an unsafe condition
to line workers in the
area. Generator power is
otherwise treated the same
as grid power.
Battery Backup Mode is when
there are no AC sources of power,
forcing the system to run on Battery
Power only. A UPS will operate
off of the DC bus until a ‘cutoff
voltage’ is reached and then safely
shut down, to protect the batteries
from damage. If you are running
in Battery Mode and the system is
nearing the battery cutoff threshold,
extend the runtime by reducing the
load on the system. When power
returns, the system will return to
Normal Mode automatically. The
batteries will charge back to float
level and the system will continue
to provide clean power without any
user intervention.

“As the Residential Energy Storage
market quickly evolves, the CI
dealer is perfectly positioned to
introduce these new products and
services to their early-adopting
customers. Emerging mainstream
products are promising big benefits,
but unfortunately fall way short
when it comes to powering today’s
connected home. When it comes
to choosing a complete energy
management solution, the only
choice for the Custom Integrator is
RoseWater Energy.”
JONATHAN STOVALL
Owner of Energy Squad
When running in Battery Backup
Mode, the system runs on the
stored energy in the battery bank.
If there is a solar array in the
system, power will flow from the
solar resource into the battery
bus, extending the runtime of the
system. If running in Battery Mode
and the system is nearing the
battery cutoff threshold, extend the
runtime by reducing the load on
the system. When power returns,
the system will return to Normal
Mode automatically. The batteries
will charge back to float level and
the system will continue to provide
clean power without any user
intervention.

MARKETS SERVED
The RoseWater Energy Storage Hub is perfectly calibrated to serve in several markets including:
• “CEDIA” custom installation/system integration market and channel, which includes audio, home theater, lighting control, automation, networking and communications, and other luxury residential subsystems
• Light commercial installations, e.g. doctors’ and lawyers’ offices and other small business where an Energy Hub can serve the entire premises
• The custom builder/remodeler market, primarily luxury “spec’ homes with buyers, as a home upgrade also providing renewable energy to meet green building standards
• Production home builders, who are mostly served by electrical contractors and electrical distribution rather than custom installers, systems integrators, or dealers
• Electrical contractors and electrical distributors, for residential and commercial applications
When the battery is fully charged and there
is solar energy available, then there will be
solar energy in excess. In this case, the
system can dispatch power to the non-
critical load panel. The Inverter/Charger
provides additional power to the non-critical
load panel to be consumed by non-critical
loads. These self-consumption techniques
can have the effect of load levelling or peak
shaving if used at the appropriate time. The
system is programmed to only dispatch
solar power while in Normal Mode. If the
system is in Generator Mode, dispatch is
disabled. Also, if the grid is not energized,
the system has protection against feeding
back AC power to the grid, which would
otherwise be an unsafe condition.
