ABSTRACT

This research was conducted aiming to reduce disruptive behaviour of pupils in the process of teaching and learning in subject Living Skills. This study is aimed to find out the effectiveness of using tokens and whistles in reducing disruptive behaviour and increase students' interest in this subject. Initial survey shows students showed their disruptive behaviour by disturbing other students to reduce the others interest. 5 students from Year 4 Intelligent were selected as respondents on purpose of this study at SK Kampung Baru. Data were collected by using observation method and questionnaires. Early observation has found that 5 pupil were diagnosed with disruptive behaviour. After using interventions, 8 weeks of observation was supervised to see the changes in behaviour that occur within the duration. The results show the declination of disruptive behaviour and are supported through observation of the students that have been recorded on a weekly basis. The findings of the study through questionnaires on students interest also increased, as the graph shows 93% of students are interested in and only 7% are not interested in the subject Living Skills. This study proved a success as it is able to improve student behaviour and interest in this subject. This study uses the proposed improvements in different reinforcement techniques.
