Djoni Izak R, M.Si, Physics Department, Faculty of Science and Technology, Airlangga University ABSTRACT The purpose of the research is to determine effect of concentration polyacrylic acid toward glass ionomer cements characteristics . Sample preparation is done by mixing the powder with a glass ionomer cement milling process for 1 hour , then sintering at 12000C for 1 hour . After sintering the powder that is mixed with liquid polyacrylic acid . The resulting slurry mixture with polyacrylic acid powder pellets printed form . Then the characterization of pellets to see the density, hardness, compressive strength and views of morphological structures . Based on the test results of the characterization of macroscopic physical test ( density ) is owned by the best samples with 100 % concentration variation with density values ( 2.140 ± 0.004109 ) g / cm3 , and the mechanical test ( hardness and compressive strength ) is owned by the best samples with various concentration of 100 % hardness value ( 18.33 ± 0.42208 ) VHN , and compressive strength v
