What is hygiene
• Hygiene is the practice of maintaining good health, being clean and avoiding germs.
What is hygiene
• It can also be defined as the act of cleanliness as a means of ensuring a healthy living
Ensuring personal hygiene• Washing hands with soap and water• Keeping finger nails and toenails
always short and clean• Bathing always• Teeth should be washed always
Ensuring domestic hygiene
• Sweeping of homes• Scrubbing of floor• Wash dish after meal• use clean and treated in cooking• House should have enough windows to ensure
ventilation
Ensuring public hygiene• Cleaning of market places frequently• Health education should be organized in
schools to make pupils aware of the need for hygienic community

WHAT IS FIRST AID• This can be described as the
emergency care for a victim of sudden illness or injury until more skillful medical treatment is available

Basic first aid techniques
• An individual providing first aid can save lives by maintaining a casualties vital needs, this rule is known as the ABC rule

to apply pressure on the chest and so pump blood through
