    The DP originally designed to provide a reliable and consistent qualification for international studentsreturning home to study at university.

    Two-year program (Grades 11 and 12) for the six subject areas. The academic level is equivalent to a first-year, first-semester, university course. There are over 2,000 IBDP schools, 1/3 are from the our region(Africa, Europe, Middle East)

    In May of senior year, the students sit an exam in each of the subject areas. Also included in their score forthe subject are internal assessments, which are assignments they did during the two years. Also points arerewarded for an independent research project, and TOK course.

    To earn the Diploma, students must score at least 24 points out of 45 points possible.

    Interesting Statistics

    55% of the students taking the exam were female versus 45% male; difference of 12,000 students.

    50% of the candidates taking the exams were full diploma. (ISB average higher 80%)

    Top two nationalities sitting the exam in 2012 were USA (63,972) and Canada (9,609) and there were 92Serbians.

    There were 2,064 schools world wide taking the IB examinations with 121,195 candidates total.

    17 secondary students earned DELF certification in 2012-2013.

    Three students earned a B Level proficiency, which is the intermediatelevel of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference). One ofthose students had the highest score in Belgrade!

    One student earned certification for Serbian as a Foreign Language, afirst in school history.

    Next year (2013-2014) a testing arrangement will be set up with

    Cervantes Center for Spanish students to earn certification.

    ISB won 7 of the 12 sports events in 2012-2013; ISB won trophies (first,second, or third) in all 12 events; ISB made it to 10 of the 12 finals (8 teamsin CEESA BlueDivision)

    In the previous three years, ISB has won 20 of the 32 CEESA sports events. 89.7% of US Students participated in an ASA, up 12% from last year. 57% of those students participated in at least 2 activities. ISB wins HS Knowledge Bowl for second consecutive year, and won 25%

    of the medals at HS Speech & Debate (all CEESA).

    The MAP assessment was given for the second time this year previously we used theInternational School Assessment.

    The assessment was given to students in grades 3-10 in the areas of reading, languageuse and mathematics

    Scores reported in RIT units (Rasch UnIT)

    an equal interval scale that ranges from100-280. RIT scores are independent of grade level (however students typically beginat the 180/200 level and end high school by the 260 level)

    More than 3,500 school systems worldwide use the assessment. The norm group iscomprised of 2.3 million students in the United States (international norm are currentlybeing developed as more international students take this test)

    This year, international norms were established (fall norms have been published, andspring norms are yet to be published). We will now have the ability to compare resultsto the performance of thousands of students around the world.
