Financial Aid
The College is dedicated to helping students
and their families make attendance at Lime-
stone a reality, regardless of their financial situ-
ation. Limestone participates in all applicable
federal and state financial aid programs in-
cluding Pell Grants, Supplemental Educational
Opportunity Grants, Work Study, and all federal
loan programs (Perkins, Stafford, Subsidized,
Unsubsidized, and Parent Loans). South Caro-
lina residents are eligible for South Carolina
Tuition Grants, Palmetto Fellows, LIFE, and HOPE
Scholarships.
Limestone awards many institutional scholar-
ships for traditional students, as well as Extended
Campus students.
Health Care Administration majorthe Limestone Health Care Administration program prepares those anticipating a ca-reer in administrative positions within the health care industry. students who are inter-ested in business, but who wish to contrib-ute to the physical and mental well-being of others, may consider this degree program. this major combines courses from a number of traditional academic fields to link the con-cerns of administration and health care.
Students in this field typically have interests in management, but may not wish to work in a traditional business environment. this pro-gram is designed so that students will be ex-posed to all areas of health care administra-tion including, finance, legal issues, politics, healthcare information systems, and eco-nomic issues surrounding the administration
and delivery of health care.
introductionThe Academic Success Center is available to all
students for tutoring. It houses the Writing Center,
the Math Center, and Tutorial Services. Peer tutors
are available to provide assistance with writing
assignments, math problems, or to help students
with any other discipline.
mathematics Department
The Limestone College Mathematics Department
is pleased to offer a peer mathematics tutorial
service available to students, staff, faculty, and
administration. Tutors are typically upper-level
mathematics and/or mathematics education ma-
jors who provide no cost and one-on-one tutoring
in mathematics. The tutoring covers a wide spec-
trum of courses from basic arithmetic, elementary
and college algebra, statistics, the calculus series,
to upper level subjects. Students are encouraged
to take frequent advantage of this free service,
getting valuable assistance before quizzes or tests
occur. Hours of operation vary by semester, please
see current schedule for availability.
Writing CenterThe Writing Center is equipped to help students
work on any type of paper or document for any
class. Students can come for help with any part of
the writing process, from brainstorming to double-
checking citations. Students who come to the
Writing Center will find a supportive environment
with tutors who are dedicated to helping people
become better writers. Each student who wants
help with a writing assignment will meet one-on-
one with a peer tutor who is a fellow student and
a skilled writer. The tutor will help the student dis-
cover ways to improve specific writing assignments,
while helping the student gain the skills needed to
become a successful writer. Students who visit the
Writing Center will receive help while maintaining
control of their own writing.
tutoringFree tutoring services are available to all Lime-
stone College students at the Academic Success
Center. These tutors are able to work with students
on development of papers and review of course
content, which includes English, Math, History,
Science, etc.
Tutors also help students:
• Develop strategies to prepare for tests
• Set priorities and manage time and tasks
• Review grammatical rules and self-edit
written work
• Communicate effectively with professors
and advisors
• Seek out other College resources as needed
• Develop computer skills
• Take responsibility for meeting deadlines
tutors as a Faculty Resource
Academic Success Center tutors are students
helping other students become active, life-long
learners. As well as individual tutoring, the tutors
Academic Success CeNTeralso lead study groups, do presentations, and share
with the faculty their insights on individual student's
learning needs. They can provide feedback to the
faculty on assignments, curriculum, and tests.
A tutor may spend as many as 30 hours of direct
contact with an individual student per semester. This
puts the tutors in a unique position to offer informa-
tion to faculty. Professors are encouraged to use
the tutors as a valuable resource.
LocationThe Academic Success Center is located in the Dixie
Lodge on the second floor, in Room 103, across from
the post office.
Make Appointments
The Coordinator for the Academic Success Cen-
ter makes all student appointments. She can be
reached at extension 4411. Students may also drop
in to sign up to meet with a tutor. Appointments
can be made Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.
to 4:00 p.m.
Accommodations
All students must complete the Needs Assessment
Form to receive special accommodations.
