ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION: The Inauguration of Association of Computer Science Engineering Students (ACES) was held on 10th August 2015. The function inaugurated the activities of the ACES for the academic year 2015-16, and introduced the association to the new members. A technical talk on Android by Mr. Harshith M D (7th CSE, VCET) and team was conducted on the same day. Around 300 students of CSE Department were actively participated in inauguration as well as technical talk.

3 Workshop on "Advanced Java Programming"

WORKSHOP ON ADVANCED JAVA PROGRAMMING: ACES organized a 2 days Workshop on "Advanced Java Programming" by Mr. Roshan Fernandes, Asst. Professor, Dept. of CSE, NMAMIT, Nitte on 29 – 30 August 2015. The session covered introduction to the advanced Java topic. The participants were given hands-on sessions on the basic Java concepts, Swings, JDBC, RMI, Network programming and Java Server Pages (JSP). The students implemented a small project using Java Eclipse as part of the workshop. At the end of the workshop, all the 61 student participants are given with participation certificate and feedback was collected.

5 Foundation Workshop on "Art of Programming"

FOUNDATION WORKSHOP ON ART OF PROGRAMMING: ACES organized a 2 days Foundation Workshop on "Art of Programming" by Mr. Nischaykumar Hegde, Mr. Nagaraj K., Mr. Sharath K. R., and Mr. Raghavendra K., Department of CSE, VCET, Puttur, on 12 – 13 September 2015. This workshop was organized with an objective to inculcate best programming practices, to strengthen lateral thinking and to develop optimal solution in acceptable time. The outcomes of the workshop expected includes – students will be able to apply best programming practices, students will be able to identify best approach for problem solving and students will be able to perform well in placement activities. At the end of the workshop, all the 34 student participants are given with participation certificate and feedback was collected.

9 Training Programme 15th & 16th October 2015 Students

TRAINING PROGRAMME TO STUDENTS: ACES organized a 2 days training programme by Mr. Nagaraj K, & Mr. Sharath KR, Department of CSE, VCET, Puttur, on 15 – 16 October 2015. Three sessions were there in scheduled two days programme. Teams formed with 3-4 students in each team. 1. Around 30 C programming language code snippets given to teams to identify the output. 2. C quiz conducted for teams. 3. Problem statements given to the teams to develop solution for those problems. All the 27 student participants are actively participated in this programme.

On the completion of the workshop, the participants are able to code image processing related programs on Matlab and Design and develop methods for image preprocessing, segmentation.
